I have just received my Dyson Purifier Fan and the temperature is reading -2, this is definitely incorrect as the room is around 20 during the day.
is there anything I can do other than having to package the whole thing up and arrange it to be returned?

You could try 'Power Cycling/Restarting' your air treatment machine | Dyson Community. If not, it sounds like it has a fealty sensor.
Check if it shows the same temperate on the machine’s display?
