High Pitch Sounds Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09

This is my second purifier TP09, as I returned and replaced the original due to the intermittent high pitch squealing sound that it produces and now the 2nd model is doing the same thing.  I've researched the community as well as a few other online communities and it concerns me that many people have this same issue and it has not really been addressed as to why and what is the cause.  I do not want to visit a repair center as I've stated that is my 2nd machine and therefore it's not an isolated issue.It seems to me that there is a flaw in the design that is not being addressed.  It doesn't make sense why it works perfectly fine until it doesn't.  If I change the setting from Auto to a number less than 7 I can hear the high pitch sound loudly, 7 - 10 and it can not be heard that much due to the wind speed overpowering however that is not an appropriate sound level to hear all day and after running at that speed for long enough the high pitch starts up again.Many people are attempting t

Air Treatment - High Pitched Buzz / Noise - Help!

Hi All - I purchased a PH04 humidifier/purifier at the beginning of this year, and it has been a huge headache for me. I normally wouldn’t complain but with the amount of money I spent I think I deserve a better result. I am currently on my 4th unit - each one has after 3 developed a relatively loud high pitch buzzing noise, that I think can most accurately be described as comparable to the sound a cicada (more like 1,000 cicadas) makes. I use the purifier as a fan/humidifier overnight night in my bedroom, and the sound occasionally becomes loud enough to wake me up. It is most definitely not normal operation, because the fan makes an acceptable amount of noise for several weeks up to a few months before it starts happening. 2 of the units replaced outright right away, and the third one I sent to the repair center where it was found to be unrepairable and replaced again. While I do appreciate the replacement machines, it seems to me that the problem is widespread if 4 in a row have had

TP04 Software refuses to update.

Hey guys,  just wanted to stop by and share some frustrations im experiencing with my Dyson TP04 air purifier.  Currently the app is refusing to let me use the scheduling facility, nor can I access the filter management function.  The app says that a software update is in progress and I will be able to use the scheduling and other features after it has completed.  Thing is, its not updating, at the unit itself its not showing the update icon, just normal operations and if I go into the settings and turn off auto update it just says ‘update scheduled’ but it never comes, but is connected to the internet as I can control it through the app or alexa.  I have tried resetting the device and removing and readding it to the app and nothing has worked.  I even spoke with Dyson who said they could manually update it at the workshop and so it was collected and sent back there.  It came back with ‘no fault found’ and no manual update had been completed.  Looking around i can see this is not the f

Change Fan Speed on Heat Setting on Dyson Hot & Cool

Although I can change the fan speed on the Cool setting of my Purifier Hot & Cool, I can’t change it when it’s on the Heat setting - it just blasts out, even if I move the fan speed to 1.Is this normal!?(Edited by moderator – tags added)

Dyson Purifier - Continuous monitoring issue

I have a Dp04 purifier. I can't get filter management or continuous monitoring to work, I've done all the resets several times it always says when I've reset it that it needs an update it is on auto-update but the software version hasn't changed. I saw a post about communication issues with the servers and updates with the machine. If you could please help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

DP04 Maintenance

My DP04 HEPA is starting to produce a high frequency sound on speeds 1-3 and it’s been getting worse over time. Is there a way to fix this issue? I’ve had the unit for a little over a year so it seems very premature to have to replace it. (Edited by moderator – tags added)

TP09 is making a weird "bearing?" noise after some time

Hi,Its been almost a month since i bought TP09. Because of the allergy season i decided to keep it on all night long. I set it on 5 and on the night mode. Somehow it came to my attention that whenever TP09 works for a long time it starts making a weird “bearing” noise. Is this a common issue? I think it has the same problem as here.Can this be fixed by Dyson technician? I don't want a new one with the same issue.Ive already returned it for the maintenance.Thank You!

Dyson Purifier Auto mode - Broken

Using auto mode my air quality is good and below the auto target but my hot/cold formaldehyde HP09 doesn’t go onto standby/idle. Thought that this was the purpose of using auto mode. There’s still airflow even though the app shows airflow as off. I’ve only had the machine for a day and still fathoming it out. (Edited by moderator – tags amended)

Pump problems on Dyson Pure Humidify + Cool PH02 and Pure Humidify + Cool Formaldehyde PH04

Purchased a Dyson PH02 Pure Humidity + Cool in December, 2021. Shortly after, I noticed that the water reservoir wasn’t going down, indicating that the air wasn’t humidifying. After working with multiple Dyson Customer Service techs who appeared not to know what they were doing, they finally agreed for me to get a new replacement model for my defective one. Because Dyson had no PH02 models in stock, they sent me a replacement PH04 Pure Humidifier + Cool Formaldehyde model. Very shortly after getting the replacement, a warning appeared on the Dyson Link App that the pump was no longer working. Then I was told I would have to wait 5 weeks for a new pump because they were out of stock. Told Dyson this was unacceptable as I needed the humidifier before the end of the winter when it would no longer be needed. I am now on my 3rd humidifier and now worrying that I got an expensive “dud” that may be prone to pump problems. I’ve seen similar pump problem comments on the various internet forums.

HP07 running non-stop in Auto mode

I recently got an HP07 and run it in Auto mode. I’ve noticed that it’s always on even with AQ being good. I previously had an HP02, which would stop completely when AQ was good and then start back up as needed. I’m wondering whether this is expected behavior for the HP07, especially given that filter life will likely be shorter with it running continuously vs intermittently.(Edited by moderator – Tags added)

Tower Purifier - Tilt feature

Hello! On the online product manual, there’s a +-10 degree tilt available… I was wondering if the unit actually has a tolt function… the app doesn’t show any option to tilt, just oscillate. Thanks! (Edited by moderator – Tags added)

Air quality discrepancy between Outdoor Air Quality and indoor reading. Is there a way to fix this?

As you can see my air quality is reading “fair” but in the graph it never reads as “fair” it’s reading as “good”. This means I’m not able to track it over time or see how often it’s actually turning on. How do I fix this? Why is this happening??

Purifier Heater - Oscillation disabled

Have had my machine for a little over a month now. It was purchased brand new at my local Best Buy. That being said, this has happened randomly about the 4th time now. The Dyson app will report with a red ! mark oscillation disabled. I go in my room to take a look and sure enough, the fan has stopped oscillating. Per the app. I use my remote and hit the oscillating button and it starts working again. What is causing this issue? I am still in my return period and wonder if this is an early failure warning to come? I use the oscillation breeze mode exclusively with this machine on 24/7.

Machine Air Quality Report Unavailable

I’ve got Dyson Purifier Cool in my study and a Big+Quiet in my living room and I tried generating a Machine Air Quality report for the first time with both. I’v e had them for a few weeks now and Continuous Monitoring has been turned on this entire time. On the iPhone app, I can see the graphs showing the air quality of the previous few days, even when the machine was switched off.But the report error message says: “Your machine hasn’t collected enough air quality readings” (see screenshot). I have tried restarting the app and the machine. No difference.

Purifier - NO2 sensor and humidity

HelloReally happy with our purifier but have found that on auto when opening the nearby outside door the NO2 will always spike to very high for a short period before settling down to normal. This happens consistently and I have read elsewhere that this could be due to the sensor being confused by the significant difference in humidity when the outside air comes in, before stabilising.I do not think there are big sources of NO2 in our garden and it always settles down after some time. Does anyone else have this? If my theory is correct could Dyson correct the software to smooth this kind of spike out as it is annoying when it suddenly goes on full blast! any thoughts welcome :-)

Dyson hot + cool - Remote control range too short

I purchased a hot and cool fan in December 22. The fan does not respond to the remote control at more than 120 cm from the fan. When within 120 cm the temperature change does not respond very quickly and sometimes skips 2 degree.A replacement machine acted the same.Somebody I know has an older model with identical looking remote that respond at 3 metresIs this a machine manufacturing fault or inadequate machine design Does anyone else have this problem? (Moderation Edit - Tags Added/Moved Category)

VOC readings

Hi I have an issue with the VOC levels that are reported as a number from 1 to 9+ scale. What amount of VOC in ppm is present actually for each level in this scale ? This is important to me as an end user to know the absolute numbers that I am comfortable. Dyson categorically say that 0- 3 is good, 4-6 is fair and so on but it is a relative scale based on what amounts of VOC present actually, I don’t know ? This is unlike the formaldehyde levels which are given in ppm units.  Appreciate if someone with the knowledge could enlighten us here. Thank you.

Dyson Purifier humidity +Cool - Humidity help

My bedroom is way way too hot. Since turning the Dyson on 6 hours ago the temp has gone up from 23 to 24 degrees and even though humidity is set at 50% it refuses to drop below 63%.It's a bloomin expensive purchase to be hotter and more uncomfortable. PH01 Humidity - How to use?

I just purchased my new PH01 Humidity and Air Purifier.  I was thrilled, being a huge Dyson fan but the humidifier doesn't seem to be getting enough humidity out.  I have set at 50 and it has been running full blast for about 8 hours and barely climes a percent.  My old cheapo humidifier would knock it out in an hour or less.  Am I doing something wrong?

Dyson Purifiers - Auto cooling and fan speed

In cooling+auto mode, it seems the HP09 fan speed is driven entirely by air quality. Is there no way to have ‘auto’ control the fan speed based on temperature? I know there’s no active cooling but setting the fan speed based on user-defined lower and upper limits would be very useful. i.e. the fan goes from 0 at 20 degrees to 10 at 30 degrees.

Purifier - VOC level explained/help

Hi, our purifier is in the nursery which has a furniture set producing voc constantly. The room is about 12 m2. The air quality always show fair and goes down very slowly. The purifier has been on for 24 hrs now and the voc level went from mid fair to lower fair only. I was wondering how long does it take for the machine to purify the air? The room is isolated- door and windows are close. Thanks

Ph01 tank status is empty (but it's not)

I have had two PH01's for about 18 months now. They're great, except one of mine is stuck on the fact that it thinks it's, water tank is empty. But the tank isn't empty. I've filled it to various levels over days. I've tried to power cycle it in different ways for different periods of time. Nothing is working. What can I do to get it to sense that the tank has water?
