Dyson Pure Hot+Cool first gen wont connect to the app

I tried connecting my HP01 air purifier to the Dyson app and the app told me to check my serial number and try again I've re-entered it multiple time and it keeps saying the same thing how do I get it to connect?

If the machine you own is the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool™ Gen 1 (HP10), please note this isn’t a WiFI compatible model. You can register it within the MyDyson™ app to access personalised how-to guides, tailored 24/7 support, exclusive offers and events. But it’s not possible to control your machine remotely via the MyDyson™ app.

If your serial number isn’t being recognised when you enter it, our Customer Care team will be happy to help you register. Please visit Dyson.com and click the round purple button to launch the Dyson Digital Assistant. Then click the agent icon in the bottom left corner of the chat window to start a conversation with our Customer Care team.
