Hi @ytp,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

Dyson cordless vacuums are engineered to pulse to alert you if an obstruction is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. This is most likely due to a blockage in the floor tool, wand or bin inlet. The filters may also be overdue for a wash.

Our video guide will walk you through the key areas to check to find a blockage. It’s also worth making sure the bin inlet flap can open and close freely - if something is jamming it closed, this could also cause the motor to pulse.

In normal domestic use, the filters should be washed at least once a month using warm water without detergent. Allow at least 24-48 hours for the filters to air-dry completely before refitting them.

I’m confident following these steps will resolve the issue with your Dyson V8™ vacuum, but you’re welcome to come back for further advice if you need it!
