Is it common to have very visible scratches on the plastic part even on a new Dyson Supersonic Nural

It is my first ever Dyson hairdryer and kinda saddens and disappoints me that for the amount that it costs to have scratches before use.
I understand that in use it may happen but that in a brand new one..
