Sore Throat Since Using Dyson Purifier PH04 - Seeking Advice | Dyson Community

Hello Dyson Community,

I recently purchased a Dyson Purifier Humidify + Cool™️ PH04 and have been using it in my master bedroom for the past three days. However, I've started waking up with a sore throat since I began using it. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues?

A few details:

  • The purifier is placed in my master bedroom.
  • I haven't noticed any reduction in the water level for the humidifier part. I am not sure if it is related. 

I'm puzzled and a bit concerned, as it seems counterintuitive to develop sore throats after starting to use a purifier intended to improve air quality. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I saw some posts regarding this issue here, but I did not see an exact solution to the problem.

@ylee1212 Thanks for your post, I’ve never heard of this issue in particular. This may simply be a correlation that’s not related (it is cold season in much of the world).
In any case, the step I’d take: Initiate a deep clean on your machine.
