Still waiting for my refund. Help!

I sent my Animal Ball, which I loved, back to Dyson for repair. They assured me online any problem could be fixed for £79.

2 days later they contacted me and advised it couldn’t be repaired, because spares were no longer available, and offered 2 options:

1: Simply have the machine back unrepaired (I REALLY wish I’d done that) or

2: Let them scrap the machine, and sell me a new Dyson @25% discount. I decided (foolishly) to take this option, and a few days later a new V8 was delivered. In the meantime, my wife discovered Curry’s were selling the same machine cheaper than Dyson had sold it to me.

I phoned the helpdesk, waited ages to talk to someone, and they said YES, they would price match.

I had to send my new V8 back, and order a new one, at the lower price, which I did, there and then, over the phone. I did suggest it would be easier if they simply sent me refund for the difference, but they would not/could not do that.

They assured me, on the phone, that my original purchase would be refunded as soon as they received the machine back at their depot. A few days later, they sent confirmation via the whatsapp channel that they had recieved the machine, and I would have my refund within 14 days.

That was 6 weeks ago.

Miles of whatsapp communication, emails, phone calls. Every time they say I will have my refund within 5 days, 14 days, soon,,,

Every time, please enter ALL your details (AGAIN)….

So currently, I have a machine (the V8) that I never wanted, don’t much like, and I’ve paid twice for.

And to make matters 100% worse, I have since found a local repair shop, here in Norwich, that specialises in Dyson repairs and has told me my original machine could have been repaired easily, they have NO PROBLEM getting spares.

The whole process is a rip-off, I’m very angry and disapointed with the “Dyson Experience” and will certainly never buy anything from Dyson again. Their foreign customer support is absolutely useless and frustrating.

 

Can anybody here help me get my refund? I guess my £250 is nothing to Dyson, but it’s lot of money to me and my family...

unfortunately, issue with payments, refunds, returns or item tracking aren’t areas in which we at the community can support on. This is as the community team do not have direct access to customer records or purchase history. 

As you’re already in contact with our customer service experts, I’d encourage you to continue your conversation with them. As you’ve had issues with speaking to the local team on WhatsApp, can I suggest calling directly and discussing the matter over the telephone.
