The different generations of Dyson Robot vacuums are not designed to operate in complete darkness.

We therefore recommend that they have adequate illumination to navigate by for the duration of the cleaning.

If your machine is not navigating successfully in areas with little to no lighting, this could be caused by uneven lighting transitions or dust/debris covering the onboard sensors. Follow the below steps and restart the cleaning.

  1. Please close any curtains or blinds to prevent uneven lighting transitions, while ensuring there is fluid lighting throughout.
  2. Check the cleaning steps on Cleaning your robot and the sensor.

Low light conditions

In ambient lighting conditions the Dyson 360 VisNav™️ robot vacuum and Dyson 360 Heurist™️ robot vacuum will compensate for reduced light by using its LEDs to selectively illuminate darker areas.

It is normal for the illumination to change in brightness depending on the lighting conditions.
