Pure Hot&Cool Remote Not Working

Got the fan for christmas, remote that came with it didn't work. swapped the batteries out with new batteries, still nothing. customer service sends me a new remote, also not working. swapped batteries on the new one as well. anyone ever dealt with this? there doesn't appear to be anyway to sync the remote to the fan it's just automatic. maybe the fan itself isn't receiving any signal from the remote...

@shneeder Thanks for the post. Indeed, that’s very off. Keep in mind, this is IR technology, not radio, with the remote - so it will need a line-of-sight with the front of your Dyson.
Also, you’re correct, the remote should “just work” without the need for pairing. Also, other IR remotes, like TV remotes can interfere sometimes, too.

contacted customer support (again, lol) and they set me up with a repair. sent the fan back yesterday to get diagnosed and hopefully fixed.
