It’s time to empty your Dyson upright, cylinder or cordless vacuum as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level. The clear bin makes it easy to see when this needs doing.

Resist the temptation to overfill the bin, as continuing to use your machine when the dirt is above the MAX line can affect performance. It may also mean you need to wash the filters more often than normal.

On some Dyson cordless vacuums, overfilling the bin can also lead to inaccurate readings on the particle graph.
