Dyson Cordless stick, Multi-directional and Handheld vacuums
My V7 cordless cuts out after 10 seconds even though it’s been on charge for days. It doesn’t do this every time though. I’ve checked the cable unplugged and plugged it in again 🤷♀️ (Edited by moderator – Tags added/Title amended)
I have a Dyson DC44 Animal and when I press the trigger I only get a green light flash on the top and at the bottom.I have bought a new motor, battery and charger but still just get these lights on both units when pressing the trigger. I have fully charged battery.Does the bin need to be attached for the motor to work or am I missing something? Many thanks for your help in this matter. For anyone after a compassion guide on tools, run time, filter type, bin size (volume), machine weight etc on the Cordless vacuums sold by Dyson, I’ve found a site that does this! It’s a lot of reading. There are a few tables handy. Dyson V6 vs V7 vs V8 vs V10 vs V11 vs V15 Cordless Vacuums - Models Comparisons Thank me later 😀(Edited by moderator – Tags added)
My machine stays on charge and the battery says it’s fully charged. When I try and use the machine it lasts a minute or two. I put it back on the charger for 20 secs and then I get another couple of minutes.Very frustrating, anyone any ideas? (Edited by moderator – Moved to a new category/Tags added)
My V8 battery has just completely failed, no warning at all, was working perfectly with no shortage of life etc, and had just stopped and won’t charged. I’ve message via whattsap and recieved a rather short and blunt “you need to buy a new battery” reply, not sure if this is automated or just a really grumpy staff member! but anyway, has anyone else ever had this? Just complete failure with no warning? Seems very strange to me (Edited by moderator – Moved to a new category)
Dyson is selling same model V8 & V8 absolute for the same price. Well a week ago the V8 was $349 so I purchased it. Now the V8 absolute is $349 and guess what!! So is the V8 still. How does this make sense? The V8 absolute comes with SO MANY more accessories. So I reached out to customer service. They would rather me exchange the whole thing instead of just sending me the accessories I’m missing. WHY. Make it make sense Dyson. I asked how much the hardwood tool is on its own $110!!! That’s really the tool I’m missing. Insanity. All this just to get the hardwood tool and the same vacuum back. Now I have to pack and ship my V8 and wait til they receive my return and then they will ship the V8 absolute. Talk about terrible for the environment this is so silly!! I could have done this myself by purchasing the V8 absolute and returning my V8 on my own without the exchange wait. Useless customer service. & the V10 is only $50 More. make it make sense!!! I have an Outsize cordless stick vacuum with removable battery. After charging I have to remove battery and put back for vacuum to work. It gets power, before removal, but does no suction. When battery removed and replaced it works fine. Have 2 batteries with same behavior so must be unit. Any thoughts?
I have used my new Cyclone V10 3 times before it stopped working. I diligently emptied the dust cannister after every use , cleaned it out and put it back on its charger. This last time it wouldn’t take a charge and never started again. I’ve owned it less than a month and if I hadn’t thrown out the box, I would have returned it and bought a different brand. I’m stuck with it now. I’m wondering if this is going to be a regular monthly occurrence or is it just a one time breakdown? Any experience with this? I have a V10 stick vac which keeps showing filter light. I have replaced filter with additional clean filter while the other dries after washing. Still the filter light remains on. I have checked for blockage and ensured filter is properly attached. What could be the issue? (Edited by moderator – Moved to new Topic, Tags added)
Please could you advise meI bought my V6 from QVC a few years back (s/n UK-HMR8755A), it’s started not holding charge, running for half minute then stopping with blue flashing light, I thought battery my be at end of life but! It’s not consistent (been marvelous up to now with an impressive run time), sometimes it’ll be fine after charging, light is coming on and charging then going out when done as should. Now! My sister has one of these and had much this problem some time back, she bought another battery (not genuine I’ll admit) but it seemed to kill that battery stone dead quite quickly, I’ve put her battery onto mine and tried charging but light doesn’t come on no matter how long you leave it in there so I assume that her battery is completely dead.Reason why I haven’t just gone and bought a new genuine battery for mine is because I can ill afford to buy a new battery and find this isn’t the cure so would like your thoughts please.Kind regardsRichard Sadd (Edited by moderator – Tit
I have the V7 extra. It charges fine, and was working fine. The roller was damaged (all the “teeth?!” had snapped off) so I bought a new one from Dyson. Since replacing, the roller spins fine, but the hoover seems to be sucking up far less. Really easy bits on the floor don’t get hoovered up. I’ve tried on both normal and extra mode. Any ideas or suggestions? I’ve cleaned the filter, I’ve checked the roller is installed correctly (and it does roll fine when being used), and its fully charged. (Edited by moderator – Tags added)
Ive had my V8 for about 5 years now, about 3 years ago the battery failed, I called Dyson who said they’d send me one for free as they’d had a problem with their batteries, great i thought. But now i need to replace this replacement. And lo and behold, i don’t have a serial number as it’s on the battery. I chucked out the original battery, they cant seem to help me on WhatsApp, or on the phone, even though i sent a photo of the battery,. Has anyone else had this problem. Im stuck with a V8, which i have to say when its working is great, and i cant purchase a new battery as there are several types and you have to know the serial number to get the battery, Over 40 minutes waiting on the phone. 2 days on WhatsApp and now I’m sitting here waiting for a call back……….. so i thoughts id off load all my V8 problems to you guys. Hi. Just wanted to share my experience with the new hair screw tool on Dyson V15.I have a long haired cat and the tool is really great at removing pet hair from my couch. But even though the rotating part avoids tangles perfectly, there’s a soft fabric strip which tends to just collect hair. In addition to this the fabric strip started to peel off after a month of use.Does anyone else experience these problems? The strip peels offHair gets captured by the strip (Edited by moderator – Tags added)
Hi,I have a V11 cordless vacuum. The bar in the torque head starts spinning for a second and then stops. This happens when the vacuum is on eco or auto mode. When I switch to boost the bar keeps spinning.Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it?Thanks in advance,Yaron
We love our V7 Christmas present from last year, use it fortnightly and it has been really great, cleaned regularly, recharged fully always after use and rarely used on max suction. So it was quite a surprise today for it to suddenly stop after 10 seconds and repeat that after 4 hours charging, using a different power point. Does this mean the battery has failed after just 22 operations? If so, then we would have to go back to the old 240V unit because those battery packs would have a very large carbon footprint with such a short life, plus a battery replacement cost of $9 every time we use it. Someone give me some good news please. (Edited by moderator – Moved to a new category)
My V15 came with purple filter, but in the replacement parts catalog I can see 2:Blue 970013-03 Purple 970013-02Is there any difference between them except the color? Why only blue one has “HEPA” mentioned in its name? Does it mean purple isn’t a HEPA filter?Would be nice if someone could clarify this because currently it’s a bit confusing.
