Dyson is Back to Number 1 for Me

5 months ago, I created a post that my vacuum cleaner was a disappointment.   Dyson made arrangements to have the vacuum cleaner sent via UPS to an authorized repair shop.  The vacuum cleaner ended up missing.  After several attempts working with Dyson, they replaced it with a brand-new vacuum cleaner with ALL the attachments included.  The replacement vacuum cleaner is fantastic. It is a  BALL ANIMAL 3 COMPLETE.  This vacuum cleaner moves easy, pulls up the carpet with great sucking power and is easy to operate!  I’m a fan again!

Impressed with my Dyson upright DC40SPOTLIGHTED POST

Hi All,Wanted to share a good news story - we have recently moved back into our house that we’ve been renting out for the past 18 months and it seems that the tenants weren’t familiar with the fact that you need to empty the vacuum after use so our Dyson DC40 had the best part of 18 months of dirt in it.Not only was it was easy to clean out but I turned it on initially without checking and it was still sucking up dirt - very impressive considering the state of the internals. I attach a photo of what we emptied out.10/10 to Dyson on this one for making a pretty much indestructible machine.

suction at hose but not at base

I have a Dyson ball vacuum and it recently has stopped sucking at the base. The hose still works. I have cleaned all filters, taken apart the base and see no obstruction. Any help would be appreciated.

safety stop on machine

Is there a lever or button to prevent the Dyson ball animal 3+ machine from moving when your using the wand? I am at the top of the stairs and the machine almost pushed me down,  as well as almost went down the stairs.

DYSON CINETIC BIG BALL ABSOLUT 2

We have been using DYSON wire vacuums for years, as we own cats and they shred like crazy.  We have been very happy with the previous 2 models we had.  We decided to buy the above model during last Christmas.  Long story short, the last model we bought DYSON CINETIC BIG BALL ABSOLUT 2 is quite a disappointment.   Is not strong enough, and the sanction is not so good.  We may need to pass by the same spot several times in order to collect dust or other staff on the ground that are small but visible to the eyes.   Also the part that is specialised for carpets, the vacuum has not the power to turn it around on the carpet.  Therefore the vacuum is not strong enough to work as should.   We discussed it with the shop were we bought it and they said all Dyson vacuums of this specific model are the same.    Really big disappointment.

Dyson DC25 brush motor not spinning - Any advice on repairing?

My 9 year old Dyson Ball DC25 brush motor is not spinning.  The brush quit spinning as a hair ball was stuck on it.   I removed the brush and removed/cleaned per the steps listed on Dyson’s site.  Reassemble the brush and pressed the power button and the brush was not spinning.  I pressed the reset brush button next to the power button and it still not spinning. What are the failure/break points that might have the issue that I can check next?  Switch? Relay? brush motor?  Please advise.

How to complain to dyson as phone people useless and i had enough I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding a Dyson vacuum cleaner Dyson Big Ball Animal 2 vacuum serial [Moderation edit - personal information removed] I purchased during the pandemic. From day one, the machine has failed to function properly, and despite repeated efforts to resolve the issue, I have been met with inadequate support, delays, and circular conversations between Dyson and your courier service.When I initially reported the problem, Currys refused to replace the faulty machine and directed me to contact Dyson. Your team informed me that the Pneumatic musclehead floor too  brush was out of stock and asked me to perform a number of diagnostic tests, which I did. Dyson customer service absolutely horrible

I am exhausted talking with customer support and basically have no recourse now and nowhere to turn.  I’m out a $700 vacuum with an inadequate replacement. Bought a Dyson small-ball and the motor blew in two years.  Then they replaced with another and that motor also blew. Now the Dyson small-ball are discontinued so they sent a replacement vacuum call a Dyson Allergy but it sucks up all my area carpets and it very, very heavy.  I asked them to replace and they said they have nothing but the cordless that are as light as my Dyson small-ball but they refused to take back my Dyson Allergy (which I cannot use!!), and send me an adequate replacement. I even spoke with a “manager” today (my 3rd phone call in 3 weeks) and I could barely hear her for all the noise of people in the background.  I explained my issue THREE times.  And for the FOURTH time of her asking me what was wrong with my vacuum and that they would just repair it (what???) I actually hung-up. But now I don’t have an adequat

Dust blowing out of corded Dyson DC43

Having a serious issue with our Dyson DC43 corded vacuum.  Every time I vacuum, the entire outside body is covered in dust!  I have to wash the machine body and wash the filter after each use. Thinking it was a filter issue, I bought new filters for both the Hepa and the smaller centre one.  This has not helped at all. I’ve spoken with Dyson who tried to troubleshoot twice.  Their suggestion was to mail it to either Calgary Alberta or Ontario. (I’m in BC) There are no repair depots in BC. It is not under warranty so I have to pay for shipping to and from just to get the repair estimate.  Not happy about doing that.   Wondered if anyone in this community had any useful suggestions.   Can see a puff of dust coming out of the side of the Dyson where the Hepa filter is also when I start it up.  Tempted to order another filter but I don’t think that much dust should be blowing out from there in the first place. I’ve tried to check every seal I could find to no avail.  Any suggestions what I

Filter not drying

I have a BIG BALL ABSOLUTE vacuum.  I washed the filter 2 days ago and it’s nowhere near dry.  It’s in a well ventilated area but it has been raining the last day.  Dyson customer service “experts” no help at all.  Any suggestions (I don’t have a drying cupboard that I’ve seen others suggest)??

I've been waiting a long time but no updates from Dyson on my exchange vacuum

I sent my broken vacuum to Dyson on March 3, 2025. They received it on March 6. Since then, no one is bothering to provide an update on the status of the exchange unit they are supposed to send me. Today is March 27. I have placed several calls but none of the representatives are able to provide an update. All they are telling me is that don’t worry, we understand your frustration. But you’ll get your exchange unit by March 31 or earlier. I highly doubt, if Dyson can manage and send me the replacement vacuum within two business days. Also, as a process, one month wait time (that is if they manage to send the replacement) is a very long time and not acceptable. I have been without my vacuum for almost a month. So, I had to spend additional money out of my own pocket to buy another vacuum while waiting for Dyson to wake up and realize that they owe me a vacuum. Dyson’s support process is horrible and one of the worse in the U.S.I am not sure how they survive.Please someone, anyone, I jus

I am looking for a replacement extension hose for my Dyson DC25, as these are no longer supplied by Dyson. Any recommendations of UK based companies that can supply one? Lots of negative reviews on Amazon about replacement hoses that don’t fit or split quickly.Thanks

Dyson upright DC65

I have the Dyson DC65 and need to replace the ball filter. I've been on the waitlist since the filter was out of stock. I was emailed and told that Dyson would no longer carry the filter but another was suggested. Has anyone put the HEPA post filter Part no. 920769-03 in a DC65? This was the part suggested in the email but I'm wondering if this is an automatic thing sent by the company or if it would actually work in my vacuum. I've used a cheaper knock off from amazon, but it makes a loud noise in my vacuum and I don't think it works as efficiently. This is frustrating that Dyson is no longer making the part I need.

another question about too much suction Dyson Animal and Dyson Multi-floor II

I have a Dyson Animal 2 and a Dyson Multi Floor 2.  Both are very very difficult to use.  I am 69 years old and I struggle to move these vacuums across a short pile carpet.  Same goes with short pile area rugs.  The amount of physical exertion it takes is unbelievable.  I have read all the posts about modifying the head to increase the “leakage.”   I don’t think I should have to do this!  Will Dyson make this right?  By-the-way, the reason we have two is we bought two at the same time to use in our two-story house.

Service and delivery

I sent my DC40 for repair which was done very swiftly. The machine was then sent back using DPD to my nominated pick up point. However there was no time for me to advise that I would be away at the time of delivery. I asked for the goods to be collected and reissued c 2-3 weeks later on 5/3 . Since then I have heard nothing.  I have made contact via email and was told it was in hand but Dyson were waiting for an update from DPD. On 22/03 I was told that DPD had made the delivery . This did not happen. My case has been escalated again (3rd time) and I could expect an answer. I then checked with DPD claim they had not received any instruction and openly admit in writing that they have lost the machine. I am my wits end with this and stick in the middle with no solution.

DC 25 still going strong since 2008

I love Dyson and its performance.  My orange DC 25 is a dinosaur and works great.  Bought because it picks up particles in the air and had a severely allergic son so needed a super powerful vacuum.  Clean the filters periodically and that’s it.  I also have the lightweight cordless purple?(6) and hopefully it will outlast me.

How to deep clean the internals of an old Big Ball

I have a 5 year old Big Ball Animal (so warrantee long gone they way of the dinosaurs...but still far too good to justify replacing).  I’ve cleaned the filter - even replaced it after 4 years which did wonders.  I de-hair the spinning brush attachment pretty much fortnightly, try to keep the container empty...but it is getting less and less performant over time, transparent bits are not so transparent, etc. There is build up in tubes, the cylinder, all the internals - it’s just not a new vacuum and the official guides are more day to day keep good: not serious deep cleaning.  When new it was actually hard to use because the suction was so strong - now it’s well below half that!I strongly suspect it is going to need a big bucket soaking, swirling, and drying for a couple of weeks to give it another couple of years of life before we eventually replace it.  It may be there is a critical part in there we could look to get a replacement for (although nothing seems to be not working).  By in

The clear plastic part of the cleaner head has collected a lot of dust and grime. I have removed one part of the brush head but how can I completely remove the brush to clean inside?

Dyson Multifloor Animal UP34 telescopic hose hose will not retract!

Dear anyone who can help!I’ve just spent 35 minutes on the phone to Dyson, but the adviser wasn’t familiar with this machine, although they were very nice and could not help.It only arrived yesterday!  It’s not as straight forward as other Dyson’s I’ve had and I worked out how to get the telescopic extension out, but now it won’t go back into the hose!!  Nothing I do will budge it, so I can’t it as normal, as the hose and extension are stuck.  There is no button to press. Motorhead for Dyson Ball Animal Origin WAND

I’ve got a Dyson Ball Animal Origin, but I find the stair tool is not as good at cleaning pet hair from carpets, or anything else for that matter, as the motorhead, with the spinning brush. Is there any way of attaching the motorhead to the wand, so that I don’t need to carry the whole vacuum up and down the stairs?Alternatively, are there any other similar accessories that are made for the cordless vacuums that will also fit onto the wand of the Dyson Ball Animal Origin? Things like the Anti-tangle Torque Drive Motorhead, mini motorhead, Hair Screw Tool, or Tangle-free turbine tool? If none of these fit directly, is there an adaptor I can use for these?

Dyson lost my Vacuum Cleaner and won’t take responsibility

I had issues with my Dyson Vacuum Cleaners head.  I contacted Dyson on 27th Dec 2024 to book in my Dyson Small Ball Animal Upright. Dyson Repair reference: 41671025 Collection by DPD on Friday 10th January 2025 - No packaging required DPD collected the item in a big black box and provided a receipt. I then received an email from DPD to say the item would be delivered back.  I checked the repair notes and it suggested the item hadn’t arrived at the repair centre but they had sent a new vacuum cleaner head to the customer.  I received the cleaner head but my vacuum cleaner has gone missing. I contacted Dyson to report this issue in January and was told that they will raise it with the concerned team. I provided the collection receipt provided by DPD. I heard nothing back for another few weeks so I contacted Dyson again in February 2025. I was told they will escalate it with the concerned team. After a few days I received a response from them which was generic and they asked for proof aga
