Dyson V10 Pulsing - Solved

My new Dyson was delivered yesterday. After many faithful years of service, my DC59 finally gave up and went to vacuum heap. Not wanting to be without my trusted friend, I invested in the all singing and dancing V10 cyclone! It was a similar price I paid for the DC59 many many years ago. The new features swayed me, bigger bin, almost 3x the run time! Where could I go wrong. Delivery was straight forward and the delivery person was really friendly. Assembly was easy and I swapped out the wall mount within minutes. Not being able to vacuum for a few days, I went straight to the highest trafficked areas in my house. The hallway and stairs. Switching the tools/floor head was really easy, the addition of the red button was great. I knew exactly where to press. My old Dyson must have been struggling more than I knew, the bin on the new one was full after the first light once over. I switched power modes and away I went to tackle the rest of the house!After a few minutes of cleaning the machi

Single-button power control coming to v15?

Hi,I’m currently deciding my purchase between the v12 Detect (2022) and the v15 detect. fluffy's head spin few seconds each time only, then stops. Help?

Could you please help me, where the problem with my fluffy head might be? It looks like both motors are working, but the one from the head works for a few seconds, then stops both motors for a second and doesn't start again… even if I keep the power button pressed. I have uploaded a short video as it is better to see than read the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k0jGE6Mq3U

Brand new V15 won't charge at all

I just unpacked a brand new V15. When pluggin in the battery to charge the blue LED’s lid up to begin with, but after checking back a few minutes after they were not lid up anymore and there is no power on the battery. The wall plug is not the issue either, i’ve tested that. Could i have received a faulty battery? Is this common?

V10 broken plastic flange

Hello, we have a 3 year old V10 vacuum, which has developed a problem with a flange on the main body of the machine. The flange should prevent the collecting chamber from coming off completely when emptying. Because this flange is broken the whole chamber comes off. Dyson have replaced the chamber which had disintegrated, free of charge, but are charging us for a new body for the machine. Our previous Dyson lasted 15 years without requiring any new parts and was still going strong when we swapped it for this model. This one isn’t overused as we have a Miele vacuum cleaner as well, thus it doesn’t need emptying more than once a week. It is a bit surprising to find that something has given up after the mechanism has only been used approximately 150 times. There’s no real way for the average consumer to write to Dyson. We have managed to speak to one of their advisors, but as it is out of guarantee, the best that they could offer was a half price replacement part. Is this what commonly ha

I beleive this can hapen occasionally on the V8, and V11, possibly others.The body seal will sometimes get stuck to the back end of the bin. The best way to deal with this is to rock the bin back and forth a bit whilst pulling forward, whilst holding the main body. Once it has moved a couple of millimetres away from the black body seal, the bin should then pull off OK to release the lid with the use of the red lever. Once pulled forward enough to empty, get the bin off as shown in the video, ensure all surfaces are free of dust, wipe the black seal on the main body with slightly damp microfibre cloth, then the inside of the bin, and the red seal. Ensure those are completely dry, then either

Cordless vacuum battery life question - Battery Management System (BMS)

Hello, we have owned a V11 Absolute for a couple of years now, and it is very good.I keep it clean and well maintained. I have a rather technical question, regarding the “BMC” part of the machine. That is, an intelligent IC (chip) or set of chips that comprise the Battery Managment Controller, that handles and checks the charge and discharge rate, and checks the general state, or health of the battery “pack”, and attempts to keep the individual internal “cells” within the pack at a balanced voltage level (depending on the internal battery design).  As my V11 is probably NOT yet old enough to have the battery pack near its End Of Life, my question is if any owners of older machines (e.g. V8 etc), have had to replace batteries after say 4 years or more use. The reason I am asking about an expected 4 year battery life, is the fact that SOME manufacturers use charge/dischage counters inside the BMC, that enforce a limit at a pre-defined count, that just stop the battery being used after th

Cordless V11 - Clear bin ejector sticking or broken - Help!

I have a V11 cordless vacuum and all of a sudden, the ejection mechanism (red lever and internal stick that pushes lid) is sticking and not opening the bin.  I now have to pry the lid open.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Nothing looks cracked or broken and it closes fine. Would rather try to fix than buy a new bin (plus they’re out of stock) (Edited by moderator – Tags added & Title amended)

IDEA - Autumn leaves makes me wish my Dyson could go in reverse

While cleaning out my gutters and sweeping away the autumn leaves off my deck today, Dyson lightning struck me, what if my Dyson could spin the other way? Using its mighty Dyson engine to push out air instead of pulling everything in. Clearing out my deck and walkway is a task I imagine the reverse Dyson technology could accomplish. And it would be great to have one less specialty tool (leaf blower) in the house. Okay, enough day dreaming, carry on.

GLS Delivery - Americas

Has anyone heard of GLS? My order was suppose to be delivered 6 days ago but they keep delaying it. Sad because the drive to Ontario from Phoenix is only 4 hours. Not sure I would order again knowing this how it would be delivered. (Edited by moderator – Tag added and Title amended)

Cordless - Power Issue

My wonderful DC35 Dyson keeps cutting out.I've followed all the advice and it still does it.I've noticed, as have others, that the battery connection is not totally secure and moves around a wee bit.Could this be the problem?  (Edited by moderator – Tag added)

Help. My Cordless vacuum isn't charging

I have had my DC59 for many years now. Recently it only works for a few mins. if that.  The blue light flashes, like it did yesterday, and I charged it overnight. I pulled the trigger this morning and an orange light came on and went off immediately followed by the blue flashing light.I’m not sure whether I need to purchase another battery or if there is something else wrong with the product. Also the MAX button used to show a blue light when depressed, now it doesn’t show a light at all.I’m hoping you can help.SusieQ (Edited by moderator – Tags added)

v11 absolute+ motor stopped working

Very disappointed with my V11 absolute+. Bought in 2020 and the motor stopped working after the warranty expired. Called the technical support and was told to replace the motor for $218. I had the same motor problem before with my V6 fluffy. This is just ridiculous. (Edited by moderator – Tag added)

V6 - Can I use it without the filter?

Hi. My mother brought a V6 from the local Carboot. I’ve had to buy a new filter, as it didn’t come with one. I wanted to know if we could use it without the filter?I’ve told my mother that she shouldn’t. Knowing her she will be cleaning out the Caravan with it tonight.
