I just got a new Dyson 360 NAV and suspect that it’s having some visibility issues with the 360 camera because it’s not doing a very good job navigating and going to the edges of the floors not even close. When I zoom into the top of the 360 camera, it looks like there are potentially some tiny little defects or possibly chips or tiny Scratch and I’m wondering if this is what is hindering the performance ? is there a way to test if this is an issue or not? If we suspect there is an issue with the 360 camera is there a way to just replace the physical glass on the camera without replacing the entire unit? Like I said, I just got it recently, but even with numerous runs, it’s never covering the majority of our floors, even though I admit that it is a smaller place with a lot of things to navigate around. I have owned multiple much less expensive robot vacuums in the past and they have all done a much better job covering the majority of the floors, including Proscenic vacuums, which are a lot less expensive and tend to get more smart over time. I thought the Dyson too would get smarter overtime as it got used to our house and navigating, but it has not improved to my surprise unlike what I’m used to from the multiple Proscenic robot vacuums. (I’ve also had Trifo and 2 earlier roombas) However , I got the Dyson vacuum because from what I understand the suction is much better and it should be able to Maintain a new carpet much better from pets and dirt accumulation, which is my goal since we are moving into our new house soon . I’m also very surprised that I am not able to witness where the vacuum is live while it’s moving on the map. That’s something I’m accustomed to with Proscenic robots and I would also be able to touch an area on the map and just to let it go clean there. Furthermore, I’m surprised that I am not able to spot clean an area from the map again unlike Proscenic. I thought the Dyson was going to be a high-end robot vacuum, but it seems like it’s really lacking on the computer programming robotic side of it even if it potentially has better suction and the ability to stop cleaning before it potentially gets Hung up on something which that part is good, but also the Proscenic robot towards the later models got really good navigating around chords and not causing an issue . But I did not like Proscenic service very much nor did I think they use the highest quality parts and I was looking for a much more high-end model due to our new house and carpets. So far, I’m disappointed in the Dyson robot vacuum even though I know it has the capability to do an excellent job and far pass Proscenic vacuum spot the computer navigation needs to get much smarter even if the 360 lands is potentially experiencing a tiny defect in the glass at the top - not sure if that’s what’s going on there.
The robot checks its camera during every run. You will get a message to clean it, if its not working correctly.
Regarding the live status, you can see in which room its cleaning with the app as the room is displayed on the main screen. If you look at the cleaning maps you can also see where it already finished cleaning.
Interesting. In my app for the USA, there doesn’t appear to be a way I can see live cleaning. I’m only able to see what it is already cleaned after it is complete and gone to the charging station. That, or it’s not intuitive how one would get to view where the vacuum is cleaning at the moment - and I’m an ex engineer from high tech yet not figuring this out?? When I’ve tried to do this, it just shows the previous map from the previous day, but nothing new yet until the whole cleaning cycle is completed and it’s gone back to the dock.
Thats strange. As soon as the robot finishes its first room I am able to see this on the cleaning map. And whenever it finishes the next room it’s also marked on the map. Regarding the live status, this should be displayed on the main screen where you can pause the robot, see the cleaning map and set schedules.
