It seems to be a common theme with the Corrale straighteners, mine are just over 2 years old and won’t hold charge for more then 2 minutes. As they are out of warranty Dyson have offered me £99 for a refurbished pair which I am reluctant to do if the same will just happen again. I may aswell invest the £99 in a different brand. It’s bad that dyson charge so much for the straighteners that seem to only last 2 years! Just being told this happens to all batteries is not good enough. If I was advised this before purchasing I would not have bought them, The straighteners are not cheap and I expect so much better from dyson.
Hi
Welcome to the Dyson Community, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here.
The Dyson Corrale straightener’s battery pack is covered for the duration of our free 2-year Dyson guarantee. Outside of this timeframe, a refurbished replacement would be chargeable.
It's not possible for us to specify an exact lifespan for any component, including the battery pack, as this depends on how each individual machine is used, maintained and stored. As with any battery, our battery packs are subject to normal degradation over their working life.
There’s nothing we can do via the Dyson Community to change the outcome here, but if you change your mind about the replacement you’re welcome to continue your conversation directly with the Dyson UK Customer Care team.
Hi Jack,
I understand the community can’t do anything to change the outcome but my goal now is to make more people aware before purchasing such an expensive product by forums and online reviews.
I do understand how batteries work but if I was aware they wouldn’t work at all after two years I wouldn’t have purchased the product, at £400 I’d expect the life span to be greater then 2 years.
No where does it explain this when purchasing.
The straighteners come with a cable which still doesn’t keep them on when plugged in.
My usage has been low as I tie my hair up during the week. Binning a £400 product after 2 years is outrageous. I didn’t take Dyson up on the £100 refurbished straighteners with 1 year warranty as at a guess the refurbished battery would have a one year life span so what a waste of £100. I have instead bought GHDs. My last pair lasted me 10 years + at a quarter of the price. I have the Dyson airwrap along with other products but will never buy Dyson again. If I can talk 10 people out of these straighteners I will be happy!
