Dyson Hair dryer

I recently purchased a hairdryer and upon cleaning the electrical cord from dust for the first time I noticed that colour from the cord is rubbing off on the slightly damp paper towel. I feel like this should not be happening as none of my other cords in the home do this. Can someone please explain why?
thank you

Hi @jfloras,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

Thanks for letting us know about this. This sounds extremely unusual - lightly wiping the cord with a cloth shouldn’t cause any issues.

Please can you confirm where you purchased your Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer from?

Hi Jack - I purchased this online from Shoppers Drug mart. I thought it was odd as well as most cords never give off colour. Sounds like I should contact Dyson customer service?
