Cannot remove Animal V11 Brush Roller

I am unable to remove my Animal V11 brush head.  I successfully removed the cap with a coin, but just the cap came of under that I see this assembly.  No matter how hard I pulled it, it will not come away from the other end. I even tried removing the screw, large washer and gray housing, but it just revealed the inner assembly, and no help getting it out.   From what I see on YouTube and the instructions, as soon as I use the coin on the head the whole brush should easily slip out, but that is not happening.  What should I try next.

Hi @paivers,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

Here are a couple of things you can check on your Dyson V11 Animal vacuum to rule out any obvious issues:

  • With the Direct drive cleaner head removed from the machine, turn it over and undo the fastener. Locate the end cap and, using a coin, turn it anticlockwise a quarter of the way. This will allow you to remove it.

Note: There should be a small padlock icon along with directional arrows to help you unlock the end cap.

  • Remove the Brush bar from the Direct drive cleaner head and clear away any hair or fibres. Check the neck of the Cleaner head (where the Cleaner head connects to the Wand) for any blockages. Ensure there is no build-up of dust or debris in the small crevice between where the Brush bar sits and the neck of the Cleaner head.

  • With the Brush bar clear of any debris, refit it back into the Cleaner head and securely fasten the end cap.

Here is the reference video that can help you resolve the issue https://youtu.be/HZjHwqYW0wA?si=jQroLzf0Vm6k83QE. These simple checks should help rule out any obvious issues, and it may be possible to resolve this on the spot!

If you need further troubleshooting help after trying these steps, please contact Dyson Customer Care directly for further support. Visit Dyson.com and click Support for the contact options for the Dyson Customer Care team in your region.

Hope this helps!

@Jannat, that’s my issue, I have it open but the brush bar will not come off.  I didn’t want to pull it too hard, but it seems to be on solid.  Should I force it off?
