I have a 4 yr old Dyson V11 that recently stops intermittently when using it - I called Dyson and they said as it’s out of guarantee I’d have to pay for a repair, when I explained that under UK law “consumer rights act 2015” which states a product should last a reasonable amount of time then the guarantee is irrelevant. The agent said she would escalate the issue and I’ve heard nothing for over a week.
Hi
Welcome to the Dyson Community!
Dyson cordless vacuums, including the Dyson V11 vacuum, include a free 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee. This covers failures resulting from manufacturing issues, and runs from the original date of purchase.
Outside of the 2-year timeframe, any replacement parts or repairs needed would be chargeable. As your machine is now 4 years old, it sounds like you’ve been correctly advised by our Contact Centre team.
You’re welcome to contact the team again if you’d like to discuss your options further. Please visit Dyson.com and click Support for the correct contact information.
Thank you Jack but I’m afraid that’s incorrect. As I previously said the 2 year guarantee is irrelevant in this case. I was advised that the issue would be escalated and I would be contacted - terrible customer service.
I would expect a Dyson vacuum to last longer than 4 years and this is covered by UK law, the consumer rights act 2015 whereby a product should be fit for purpose, be of reasonable quality and last a reasonable amount of time.
I’ve found Dyson very unhelpful and I’m afraid I won’t be purchasing anything else from Dyson in the future.
