Dyson V12 Detect Slim Warranty - Cyclone Rubber Sealant

Hello, I bought Dyson V12 detect slim in October 2022 (received it on 28 Oct), so it's less than 7 months old. I'm a very careful OCD person and expect the Dyson quality with the $ spent on this machine.

Today I notice that the red rubber on the machine is starting to break, which even though it's not affecting the machine but it's not something that I expect to happen in less than 7 months. :( Can I claim warranty of this issue?

I've attached the photos for your reference. Thank you

Hi @Noble21

Thanks for letting us know about this!

As others have mentioned, cosmetic issues that don't impact the performance of the machine aren't covered by the Dyson warranty - but we would assess each issue on a case-by-case basis. If you haven't already reached out to our local Dyson Customer Care team, I'd encourage to reach out to discuss this with them. To do this, simply click on our Guides and manuals link, navigate to the ‘Contact us’ section of the page and start a WhatsApp conversation.

Nope. The warranty identified this as ‘Cosmetic’  and it isn’t covered. That is unless it was impacting the function of the machine, which you’d have to prove.

This is part of the rubber moulding used when sealing the cyclone, I picked mine off as it was beginning to trigger my OCD.

Same here. Left side of cyclone has red rubber pultruding. It didn’t change the performance, but unsightly nonetheless.
