Yes from what I know the normal head works on hard floor

The Motorbar cleaner head is suitable for use on both hard and carpeted floors. On hard floors, soft anti-static carbon fibre filaments release clinging fine dust particles and allergens. On carpets, stiff nylon bristles sweep into the carpet pile to agitate and pick up ground-in dirt, pet and human hair and debris. A row of polycarbonate hair removal vanes automatically clear hair from the brush bar as you vacuum. 

The separate Dyson Fluffy soft roller head includes a motorised soft roller covered with durable nylon felt, as well as anti-static carbon fibre filaments. It gently draws in both fine dust and larger debris on hard floors.

Depending on which Dyson V11 variant you choose, your machine will include either one or both of these motorised cleaner heads.
