I’ve had my V12 Slim Absolute for 11 months, and it’s time for it to go. I usually enjoy cleaning, but this vacuum’s ceaseless whining leaves me annoyed after each use. “My filter is dirty!” “The airway is blocked!” “I’m running low on battery already!” “You need to clean the canister!” “I’m going to shut myself off now!” It’s insufferable.

After five minutes of use, the Clean Filter indicator comes on. After eight minutes, the Airways Blocked sensor is activated. After ten minutes, the unit shuts itself off. It doesn’t matter if the canister is empty or if I’ve just cleaned the filter. It complains regardless. I vacuum my house every week. My carpets are not dirty enough for this level of whining.

The only thing that clears the Clean Filter indicator once it appears is to pop the filter off while the unit is running. Nothing else works. And once that Airways Blocked indicator appears, forget it. The vacuum is rendered useless. I still have my twenty year-old Dyson Slim. I’m going back to that one, though it doesn’t have as much suction, because at least it can get the job done without complaint. 

I’d give this thing away, but I don’t want to saddle someone else with it. 

Oh at least I’m not the only one!

I HATE my V12 Slimline Absolute!

As soon as I switch it on its full and I’m shouting at it ‘there’s nothing there’. It tells me to clean the filter when I’ve just cleaned it.

I’ve had Dyson hoovers before and love them but this one is terrible, It’s got to the stage now where I can’t use it at all. They cost so much compared to other hoovers but this one has broke me and  I can’t really justify spending that amount of money again. I’ll be going to B&M and buying a Shark!
