Does anyone know why the chargers for the handheld dysons are NOT compatible with the others?

A good question - thanks for raising this with us here!
Although you’ll find the main body on each of the models slight different, which can cause the connections to vary, the reason is a little more technical.
Without going into vast amount of detail, as each model has a slight higher run time, the battery requires a varied voltage to charge. The charges are designed individual to suit the needs of the model you’ve purchased.
Don’t worry however, each model is provided with a charger a purchase, and more can be brought through our website. View our How to: Order spare parts and accessories | Dyson Community article for instructions on how to purchase.
