My DC55 (2018 purchase) is juts out of warranty and the brush bar is no longer spinning.
I have learned the brush bar to remove all trapped hairs.
I cannot manually spin the brush bar and it will not spin when the machine is switched on.
Any ideas? or do I need to purchase a replacement head unit?

It does sound like some part may be jammed, so it may be an easy fix. If this self-help guide above doesn’t fix it, a new head will be needed.

I removed the bar as per the guide. I found some hairs trapped which I removed. I then disassembled the black protruding dowels which the bar rests in the centre of the head. I found a lot of debris there which I believe was the real cause of the problem. I then cleaned this area.
Unfortunately after assemble the brush bar does not spin. I presume the motor may have burned out or have been damaged at an earlier point due to the jam. I will look to replace the head if possible.
