Trigger Vs Power Button - Suggestion for small improvement on Dyson | Dyson Community

Hi All, I recently got cordless vacuum cleaner. Battery runs long and close to the end of cleaning the house I realized that it would be nice to have a hold “ON” button to keep vacuum cleaner running without the need to squeeze the trigger. (similar like it is realized on most of the drill machine).

Hi @Anton,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback! Dyson cord-free vacuums originally included a trigger power control to maximise runtime by ensuring battery charge wasn’t wasted. Over time we’ve been able to engineer machines with longer runtimes, and on some models we’ve also added Auto mode to intelligently adjust suction power depending on the amount of dirt detected.

These developments mean on our latest generation of machines, including the Dyson Gen5detect™️ and the Dyson V12 Detect™️ Slim vacuums, have a single on/off power control button on the rear of the motor. No trigger to hold, for comfortable, continuous cleaning. Moving away from the trigger design means we’ve also been able to ergonomically redesign the handle to further increase comfort in use.

Hope this helps!
