Where can one find the model number of one's upright please?

Good idea having models colour differentiated ….. unless the one you have falls between two colours (either sun bleached or natural variation). I have either a 40 or a 41 and want to be sure which when ordering spares

Unless this is etched into the plastic bin, I don’t think they show the model number on the cleaner. 

There should be an id on the serial number label. I’ve just checked our DC50, and this is behind the bin on the cleaners shaft.

If you want a hand identifying which accessories go with your model, visit their website. They have an accessory page that only shows part for the model you choose. This post has the link - How to: Order spare parts and accessories | Dyson Community
