I just got my air purifier it worked perfected the first day but the second day there started to be a terrible smell. The air quality has always been in the green so it’s not like it’s been working overtime. Is this normal? The smell gives me a headache so not something I can get over. It smells like paint/plastic or something like that. I’ve opened the filter site and everything seems to be okay.

Unusual - nothing I’ve experienced. Here are my suggestions:
- Check if the filters were removed from their plastic wrapping;
- Make sure there’s no air fresheners, incense or oil burners nearby;
- Check for blockages, ensuring the filter housing isn’t covered: Cleaning your machine | Dyson Community;
- Read What is off gassing and what causes it? | Dyson Community
If none of these fix the problem, give their website diagnostics a try, failing that, call Dyson directly.
