Your filters are not washable and should be replaced when prompted to ensure the most effective performance. Air treatment machines receive a reminder after 12 months use. The usage of the filter life is based on an average of 12 hours of usage a day.

Instructions on the filter maintenance, including a step-by-step guide on replacing them, can be found through the below resources.

  1. The Dyson App
  2. The machine user manual
  3. Dyson’s online support
  4. Dyson official YouTube channel

The Dyson App

Once your machine is connected, navigate to the home-screen, selecting the ’Settings’ settings icon in the top right, then select ‘Your machine’s settings’.

From here, navigate through to the ‘Air’ section and select ‘Filter management’.

On the next screen under the image of the filter(s), choose ‘How to replace your filter’ and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Your replacement filter may come as one part (outer housing and inner filter are attached together), two parts (outer housing and inner filter are separate), or one inner filter. The two part filter has arrows inside the unit.
  • If you have received one part where the housing and inner filter are attached, install the new unit and dispose of the previous unit.
  • If you have received two parts, and previously had one part, dispose of the old unit and install both the outer housing and inner filter. In future, you will only have to replace the inner filter.
  • If you have received one inner filter, and currently have the two part filter installed, install the new inner filter and dispose of the previous one.

If you’ve not yet connected your machine to the Dyson App, please refer to our Connecting your Purifiers, Humidifiers and Heaters to the App article.
