Since the community became inclusive of all Dyson technology, of late, I’ve responded to discussions surrounding the Cordless vacuums and their battery life expectancy. Specifically, on the belief these should last for a substantial time past their warranty expiration.Having a working knowledge of battery development, I wanted to share my own opinion on this subject.Battery failure is sadly unpredictable. Have Dyson Accepted that the OmniGlide was a Very Poor Machine?

The OmniGlide is driving me nuts.I have become an expert in maintaining it and cleaning it but it still clogs up so easily, in many different ways.How did this get past the Dyson quality assurance stage?I see that it is no longer for sale - is this an acceptance that it wasn’t up to scratch? I rang customer service today and they were very helpful and are sending me out replacement parts.But I have a feeling that the problems are systematic ...

Cordless V11 floor head doesn't spin

New v11 machine, less than 1 year old. The floor head of this model uses a spinning head (roller) which stopped spinning. The device is very clean and well kept, no hair or debris, etc. Is clogging the rollers way. I had cleaned and maintained it. To me it seems that the roller head doesn't get any DC power via its electrical contact points. My biggest problem is that the local distributor tells me that there is no warranty for the roller head. This is an unaccepted answer. First thing, the roller head is a crucial part of the machine. Secondly, the problem arises from the main unit, not the roller head. What can I do to get this machine back in order? (Edited by moderator – Tags amended)

Flashing Blue & RED Lights & is NOT the battery

I have a Dyson V12 that is flashing all kinds of different colors. First it was just blue now I am getting Red some of the time. When the battery is out of the unit and I press the battery plunger the battery shows 3 blue bars. When I install the battery and pull the trigger I was getting get an unlimited number of blue flashes. I quit counting after 30. Now I get 1 RED flashing light then it switches to Blue and goes on forever. The only way to get the battery to stop flashing is to plug it back into the charger out of the unit.I ordered a replacement battery and it did not fix the issue so I know its not the battery and must be something inside the unit. Can anyone help me with this?

Gen5detect "Filter needs cleaning" alert never displays

I’ve had my Gen5detect for nearly a year and use it regularly. I cleaned the filter about a month into owning it and then forgot about it expecting to be notified by the alert when it was time. I just cleaned it last night for the second time. In all that time, I have not seen the notification. I confirmed that alerts are on in the menu. Is there something wrong with my unit or does it really not need the filter to be cleaned for that long? The manual specifies monthly cleaning. Thanks!

V11 Pulsing even after changing to new filter, cleaning and new battery.

my V11 Absolute is Pulsing on all settings, and it doesn't matter if i have the motorised head on or just the handheld wand part, it pulses each time, i have completed the following trying to get it to work.Bought a new genuine filter (No difference) Pulled it further apart than just cleaning the silver screen, i followed YouTube and pulled most of it apart except the motor, cleaned and wiped everything and nothing major, just dust. (No Difference) Bought a new Battery from Dyson and changed over night (No Difference)anything else to try

dyson vch601 tank failure

Hello,I am experiencing an issue with my Dyson VCH601, which operates intermittently before shutting off.If I do not close the waste collection flap, the vacuum works perfectly. However, as soon as the flap is closed, it starts to function erratically, the indicator light on the tube flashes white, and the device stops.I have tried cleaning the compartment, but it has not resolved the issue.Do you have a solution to help fix this problem?Thank you.

Pulsing v8 despite cleaning everything

Hi all, first time poster so please be gentle with me. I have a V8 that keeps pulsing, as i said in the title, I have cleaned out all the filters and have narrowed the problem down to the large head. If I pick the V8 off the floor it stops pulsing, I have taken the roller out but that looks clean but it feels a bit ‘grainy’ if i rotate it by hand, should it feel like that. I am loathe to spend 80 pounds for a new one so wondered if there is anything I can disassemble to get my V8 back to full functionality?

Dyson V11 is pulsing on Eco and Mid mode, but works fine on boots mode

Hi Everyone, My Dyson V11 started pulsing on eco and medium mode then stops, but works ok when I switch it to boost mode. I checked for all possible blockages, also changed filter to brand new, but still problem exists. Does anyone had similar issues? Any tips how I can fix it? Thank you in advance.

Cleaning of tiny wheels from V15 - Any suggestions?

On my V15, the little wheels underneath the rollerhead gather hair that gets wrapped up. This results in the wheels being unable to move which messes up the steering and scuffs my wooden floor.To clean, I have to slice the hair around the little wheels and pull it out little by little. This is way too time consuming since this has to be done after every few uses. I feel like the roller head needs a different wheel design. Either that or create a way for the wheels to pop out for easier cleaning. I can't be the only user who sees this as a major problem. Any suggestions, shall I unscrew that part to get this cleaned? It dseems odd that this was not thought-through?

burning smell with DYSON V15 DETECT TOTAL CLEAN EXTRA

There’s now a burning/electric smell when this vacuum is being used. Filter gets cleaned regularly. When I used to have cheap-o vacuums, this smell usually meant a belt was broken. I looked through the replacement parts, and there’s no belt.What are other likely causes?

Escalation: How to get help after 2 months trying?

Hello Community,who can help me to finally get a solution for my defect Dyson here in Germany?I contacted the German support via chat, they were initially responsive and promised to send a spare part. But now even after I waited for 6 weeks nothing happened. No spare part, no message, no excuse. I tried to contact them again, but the online chat disappeared on the website. Then, the German site offers a WhatsApp chat function, I entered all my details and only afterwards the chatbot informed me that messages will not be read.Now I tried the hotline and the agent suddenly said I need to return my Dyson. They would create a return label for me but this will take 2 weeks to prepare. Then several additional weeks to receive the replacement.I cannot believe that a professional company with premium products like Dyson has a customer support that even after 2 months cannot exchange or repair a broken device.I have a case number etc. available, so if anyone here feels able to support and resto

Omni-Glide Castors Design Flaw

Same issue as this topicI had issues with the OmniGlide castors basically as soon as I purchased in 2022. Dyson support was unhelpful and basically gave me the runaround constantly saying with regular maintenance it shouldn’t be an issue. The castors have a major design flaw in that they are captive and can’t be removed to easily remove hair. Then the castors get stuck and the entire machine doesn’t roll smoothly anymoreIn 2023 I attempted to purchase replacement castors even though I knew that this wouldn’t solve my issue. Dyson support promised that the parts would be back in stock soon, they never did come back in stock and you’ll note now they no longer sell the castors on the spare parts page. This is complete garbage and Dyson should be held accountable for this. Feel free to contact me Dyson (I tried email, whatsapp, whatever I could find and nobody did anything), but I doubt you will. Won’t be buying Dyson again I can tell you that.

dear Customer Service,I have to write to express my deep dissatisfaction with the costumer service. I always trusted in my Dyson products and was a big fan. but now I’m completely disappointed with your costumer service and support.I bought a Dyson v15 detect on June 2nd online at Dyson.de and was very pleased with it until last Sunday. It suddenly didn’t clean anymore. It is also impossible to recharge it (so also nothing on the display). The charger looks fine by the way.so I contacted customer support online. After a long waiting time and explanation they finally got the problem and told me that the main part of my (brand new) cleaner has a defect and needs to be changed. They told me I should wait for the email for further explanation that I would receive. So far I didn’t receive anything! I also tried to call the hotline but after 5 tries of waiting about 30min in line without getting through, I gave up and wrote the online service again. They told me my complaint was already plac

cleaning tiny wheels

I have been complaining to Dyson for 20 years now about how difficult it is to clean the tiny wheels. Why do they not simply make them removable. With 2 dogs and a cat all long haired the wheels must be cleaned every single vacuum. 20 min to vacuum and 20 min to clean those darn wheels. Anyone have a better solution than scrapping away at it with a sharp knife. I love my Dyson and the only thing that would make me buy another brand would be those awful tiny wheels.

V11 - Ring not sealing properly in cannister

There is a black plastic flexible ring that runs on the bottom of the top part of the canister with the perforated metal surface. The hair as you can see in the first picture, is going by that black rubber piece. Then it works its way around to the air intake, which is in the metal perforated structure. So anything that gets around that rubber ring makes it to the intake. It seems that the rubber piece cannot completely seal, otherwise the vacuum doesn’t seem like it would work. But maybe it’s supposed to be very close so only dust gets through and not large particles. The square air intake shown in the front of the second picture is getting clogged up with pet hair that is getting past the rubber gasket in the second picture. It fills up each time I use the vacuum, causing an error that the air intake is blocked, and then I need to clean it out with a toothpick.Any ideas?

When will the Dyson V15 Main body available?

I have a case with Dyson since Jun and from the Agent that my Dyson main body need to be replaced because I tested all things and it keeps shut off within 2~3 sec and after 4 to 5 times, it work like normal. Until now, I still waiting for the replacement but my warranty will expire soon. So I checked with support team and they did the same thing and provide me another ticket number for the main body. I am wondering why need to create a new ticket for the same case and why still not able to get this fix. I love to use it but now it hates to work for me.

Cordless V7 Motorhead Brush bar - Part purchase - 3 Prong vs 4 Prong

This question is similar to the title to “V7 Animal 3 hole motorised brush head” which does not provide an adequate solution. The brush bar declared as a spare part is 4 prong, but the brush head only accepts 3 prong. I have bought a new brush head and it is again 3 prong. From a sustainability viewpoint, to purchase a brush head every time a brush bar wears out is unacceptable and I am surprised that Dyson has little consideration for a circular economy. The new brush head will be returned. There is no information provided by Dyson regarding 3 prong and 4 prong. but other parts’ suppliers advise that for the 3 prong, you have to buy the complete brush head. Since I know other versions (V8, V9, V10) of brush heads will work on my V7, I will have to progressively buy and return each one until I find the 4 prong version, I suppose. Or does anyone know which ones are 4 prong? Perhaps you could check your machines and let me know?

Wow , bad webside , bad service . Very disappointed ! Bought Vacc cleaner in 2022 » 2x the filter broken . And now I cannot even order a new one » waiting time . Lady in Germany at the phone service very unpolite!!What to do know ? Need to buy a new Vacc cleaner after 2years and 500._??
