Since the community became inclusive of all Dyson technology, of late, I’ve responded to discussions surrounding the Cordless vacuums and their battery life expectancy. Specifically, on the belief these should last for a substantial time past their warranty expiration.Having a working knowledge of battery development, I wanted to share my own opinion on this subject.Battery failure is sadly unpredictable. It exclusively can’t be tracked to a singular cause, and it is important to note that this doesn’t just affect vacuum batteries but any rechargeable battery in modern society. V8 red light specifically flashes 4 times

What is the problem if the red light flashes 4 times only, not 12. I’ve looked it up & only one place I’ve found specifically states it will be a problem with the motor, not the battery. (As it would flash 12 times if it’s the battery) Every where else, including Dyson customer services just say, ‘if a red light flashes, it’ll be the battery.’It’s been working fine for 4 years. I’ve had no reduced power over recent use. Yesterday went to use it & no power, the power light just flashes red 4 times when triger pulled or put back on docking station.Any help would be much appretiatedChris

Dyson V11 out of warranty repair nightmare

So I have tried to get our ~3 year old V11 repaired. I understand that it’s not covered by warranty anymore. After the initial contact I was give a repair refrence number and was told box would be sent in which I can send my defective unit for repair. Two weeks passed. No box. I have tried to reach customer service now at least 5 times over the last week with pretty disappointing results. I either get a standard bulk email reply after which nothing happens or over chat I’m promised that the box will be sent expedited. No box. No tracking number or confirmation.Last attempt provided an answer back noting that my issue has apparently been solved so no further action was necessary. This was an answer to email where I have been trying someone to actually read my first email where I’m asking what’s the status of my repair order.Needless to say this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve had with any electronics so far. I am saddened to see once great brand gone this bad. I cann

Cordless V7 Motorhead Brush bar - Part purchase - 3 Prong vs 4 Prong - My solution

One can buy a new brush bar for £27.50, but the Dyson website does not tell you that this is the 4 prong old version. If you want a 3 prong brush bar, your have to buy a complete Direct Drive Cleaner head which contains a 3 prong brush bar, but it will cost £60. Rather expensive when all that is required are the brushes to be replaced.My solution was to cut a notch in the 4 prong brush bar just above the brush so that the brush itself can easily slide out. A similar notch on the existing 3 prong brush bar enables the old brush to be removed and replaced with the new one with a touch of glue at the notch to hold the brush in place. This has worked very well for some time now and avoids paying for a complete direct drive cleaner.

Unable to troubleshooting via Dyson WhatsApp - Appalling Customer Service

Purchased a v7 cleaner direct from Dyson with 2 year guarantee 18 months ago. Machine is now totally dead. Started the WhatsApp procedure with Nadia and went through everything. Absolutely no difference, machine is dead. Nadia then ends conversation and no response from anyone at Dyson. The cleaner therefore is scrap because no one at Dyson will honour the 2 year guarantee. Spent £250 on this thing and left with nothing. Absolutely outrageous.

V10 stopped working.

My V10 has stopped working - All blue lights come on and it will not start. The trouble shooter says I need a new body for £79.However none available, but new ones are for sale.There seems to be a lot of issues with the V10 on the forums - concerning this matter - is there a fault with these cleaners?How long do I need to wait for fork out £79 to buy a new body?It’s not as if the cleaner has had much use, but had it a while. My Cordless is cutting out (Not Pulsing) - What can I do?

My v7 is fully charged. After about 5 seconds it stops, I plug it back it and it indicates it is fully charged and it will go again. This happens 3 to 4 times and then finally works fine until the charge is gone.It’s not pulsing just stopping this happens on boost as well as normal. Very annoying. Unable to remove Brushbar from V10 Torque Drive Motorhead assembly

I purchased a replacement Torque Drive Motorhead Assembly (PN: 969110-01) on 4/21/2022.About 2 weeks ago, I found that I was unable to remove the “Brushbar” for a weekly cleaning. At all. It was stuck like glue. I contemplated using a large screwdriver to force it out, but thought that might cause damage that would void the one year warranty. Until that day it simply pulled straight out with little resistance.About a week ago, I took my vacuum (CYCLONE V10 ANIMAL SN: REMOVED) to the Dallas Service Center for assistance. After some back & forth, they claimed that my issue was NOT covered by the one year warranty. They speculated that something had “melted” and fused the brushbar to the motor assembly. When I asked if he was implying that I had “damaged” it in some way, he said he was “not” implying that. And, when I asked him why, then, it wasn’t covered by the warranty, he was unable to respond coherently and suggested that I contact customer service.NOTE: I purchased this service

Is it possible to buy/replace just red bin release lever on a v6 cordless?

one of the flanges has snapped off and it’s only made of brittle plastic. only spare part seems to be entire motor assembly. Only parts that include it are the entire main body and that isn’t even in stock. (Moderation Edit - Tags Added)

Dyson V15 HEPA filter - help with purchasing?

The HEPA filter for my Dyson V15 Detect vacuum has been on back order is since I bought my vacuum, ages ago. Out of desperation, I bought one from Amazon which was advertised as suitable for the V15, When it arrived yesterday, I noticed it wasn’t the same color and says Dyson animal on it. Can I use this on my V15 even thought it’s not the HEPA one. Where, when and how can I get an original HEPA filter?

Cordless - V7 Animal Brush Head - Broken Wiring

Broken wires #1Broken wires #2Hello All,New to the community and just trying to figure out the best course of action here.I have a V7 Animal SV11 that I bought refurbished several years ago direct from Dyson’s eBay store. We’ve kept it clean and it’s been a champ for us but recently I noticed that when I extended the vacuum flat to go beneath furniture the brush motor shorts out/disengages.I began investigating yesterday and when all else failed decided to disassemble the brush head to trace the wiring. Sure enough, right on the swivel “knuckle” one can see the wires are now nearly completely severed, causing the short I’m experiencing. This makes sense since the most stress on the wire is right where the knuckle bend occurs. When the vacuum is upright or diagonal there is enough wire contact to keep the brush motor engaged, but once it’s leveled out it loses contact and shorts.I believe the brush head part no. is 225800 with the serial being 020317M060184E. lighted cleaner on the Gen 3 cordless - Broken part

My Gen 3 cordless lighted head cleaner is wearing out the plastic bearing located on the removal side of the cleaner itself. It allows the brush bar to vibrate but still operate with a vibration. Dyson has already replaced the cleaning head once inside a 12 month period. Although I have 11 months left on the original 2 year warranty. I’m concerned that after the warranty expires I will be on the hook to replace the head due to as far as I’m concerned to a poor design specifically the material choices for the bearing currently being used.

Cordless V10 hair in the filter - Is a new thing?

Hello, experts. I have a V-10 and it has generally worked very well for pet hair. We have a VERY small house and German Shepherd dog. He sheds like crazy and we vacuum regularly. We have to empty out the compartment 3 or 4 times in one vacuuming session, which is not a problem and also not surprising considering the volume of hair. However, we have a new problem (with the filter) that never used to be an issue. Rather than just a layer of dirt/dust like before, the filter (the little “cap” type at the top of the machine) now has tons of hair in it as well. I feel like this is a problem and not normal. Any ideas as to what might be causing this or what I can do? By the way, we did buy a brand new filter FROM Dyson and it appears to be exactly the same as the old filter. I still have both filters (kept the old one as a backup). Thanks!

v7 battery died so i bought a new one. put it in and it stays on until you pull the battery, the trigger doesn’t work. bought a used motor and can’t even insert the battery. do i have to move something inside the handle? thanks (Edited by moderator - Tags added/Title amended)

Cordless V7 - Motorhead dirt getting stuck and not going into bin - Help!

My V7 motorhead is sucking up the dirt but it's getting stuck in the section going into the bin part. I see a red plastic flap there and think maybe it's supposed open during sunction to evacuate the dirt into the drum but I'm not sure it's opening as the dirt just clogs up in that area. Cordless V11 floor head doesn't spin

New v11 machine, less than 1 year old. The floor head of this model uses a spinning head (roller) which stopped spinning. The device is very clean and well kept, no hair or debris, etc. Is clogging the rollers way. I had cleaned and maintained it. To me it seems that the roller head doesn't get any DC power via its electrical contact points. My biggest problem is that the local distributor tells me that there is no warranty for the roller head. This is an unaccepted answer. First thing, the roller head is a crucial part of the machine. Secondly, the problem arises from the main unit, not the roller head. What can I do to get this machine back in order? (Edited by moderator – Tags amended)

My Cordless V11 is dead - What are my options?

My V 11 is 5 months out of Warranty today.Yesterday when I tried to use it I pulled the trigger and nothing happened.I have followed all the self help steps.It show fully charged and the display is on.There are no blockages and filter is clean.Trigger works because it turns on display.Five months out of warranty what are my options? V10 Animal - Seal in Clear Bin

V10 Animal - Dust/fluff is passing the seal into the upper part of the clear bin. This makes emptying the bin difficult and, more importantly, allows more debris into the fllter causing blockage. Anyone have the same problem and/or knows the solution, please? (Moderation Edit - Tags Added)

dyson Cordless V15 - Anti tangle head cleaning

As you guys can see above dyson that I bought today a d used first time has got few hair stuck as well as blue thread (first I thought this is built in lol but now realised it is not).. anyways just want to know because I'm newbie whY should I do? Would it clean by itself when I run the vaccum again or do I have to take it out myself. If latter is the case can you please guide me or share video perhaps

Cordless Dyson V6 not working - Blue/Green Light

I have a Dyson V6 DC62 which has stopped working Press trigger for 10 seconds solid blue LED which turns green after 10 seconds and then goes blank. I have cleaned all the filters including the cyclone element with no success Dyson help line suggest a new body which they can't supply(no stock) but the LED sequence repeats when the battery is separated from the body.
