Official Dyson Community - Terms and Conditions

About the Official Dyson Community

Welcome! The Official Dyson Community (the “Community”) is intended to provide a forum in which Dyson owners can discuss the use of the Dyson’s products. This Community is for all owners of Dyson products, but is currently only available in English.

The Community is made available to Dyson owners free of charge.

We may update the Community from time to time to reflect changes to it, our users' needs, our business priorities or changes in law. We do not guarantee that the Community, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the Community without notice.

About the Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (together with any documents referred to in them) apply to your use of the Community and they explain what is expected of you when using it.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before you start to use the Community. By using the Community, you confirm that you are 18 years old or above and you accept these terms and conditions and you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you must not use the Community.

Please note we may change these terms and conditions at any time. We will try to give you notice of any major revisions.

Rules for Sharing Content and Using the Dyson Community

We’d like the Community to be enjoyable for everyone, so we ask that members are always respectful of each other. Put simply, that we treat others how we’d like to be treated ourselves.

When contributing to the Community, you promise that any such contribution complies with these Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct, and you will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty. If you are a consumer user, this means you will be responsible for any loss or damage we suffer as a result of your breach of your promise.

Should it be necessary, we have full discretion in addressing behaviour and removing content that we feel is not in line with our Code of Conduct or these Terms and Conditions. Please find our Code of Conducthere. This behaviour includes but is not limited to:

  1. Offending behaviour/Discrimination. Everyone wants to have a positive experience in the Community – so please make sure that you’re not detracting from anyone else's. Refrain from posting anything unlawful, defamatory, seditious, inflammatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful or abusive. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment on either the Community or through private messaging are not acceptable.
  2. Swearing. Obscene language is not acceptable and will be removed.
  3. Personal details. Images, phone numbers, addresses, payment information etc will be removed for your own protection.
  4. Advertising/Scams. The Community is provided as a service to Dyson owners and is not intended for the promotion of third-party services, products, websites, or organisations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, political campaigning or any other form of unauthorised solicitation.
  5. Off topic posting. For everyone's benefit, please stay on-topic. Refrain from discussing personal matters, the personal information of others, abusing any company or product, or from posting in a manner unrelated to Dyson products. Don’t post any information that you wouldn’t want to make public. Any information that you post can be obtained and used by others. You post at your own risk and responsibility.
  6. Posting in the Community. When posting within the Community information must be accurate (where they state facts); be genuinely held (where they state opinions); comply with applicable law in any country from which they are posted and not impersonate any person, including an Employee of Dyson, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or to otherwise misrepresent the origin of content.
  7. Corresponding with us. Actions and the contents of private exchanges with staff members, moderators or administrators should not be shared or discussed on the public forums. Such material will be removed. If you have questions or comments regarding our actions, contact the forum administrator, staff or moderators through private message.
  8. Dyson Information. Do not post any non-public information about Dyson or any of its affiliates or any other company or person without the proper authorisation to do so. This includes providing the names, addresses and extension numbers of employees of Dyson or any of its affiliates.

Using Community Content

Please be careful when using the Community. Content (other than from a Dyson Community Manager or Moderator) is posted by other Dyson owners and it has not been provided or verified by us. The views and opinions expressed by other users on the Community do not represent our views or opinions.

You should not follow any content that does not relate to Dyson products. Whilst most users are happy to help, please remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. If any advice sounds unsafe or incorrect, please do not try it. Please remember, you are using the Community at your own risk and responsibility.

If you are concerned by any of the content posted in the Community, please flag the relevant post to us (by selecting the three dots in the bottom right-hand corner).

Removing Content, Suspension and Termination

We will determine, in our discretion, whether there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any other applicable terms through your use of the Community. Where we reasonably suspect a breach to have occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate to protect the positive experience of other users and the legal rights of Dyson and others, including:

  • suspending or terminating your right to use the Community or post any material;
  • removal of any post already uploaded to the Community; and/or

You must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any access credentials if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms and conditions or if we suspect that the credentials have been compromised.

If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user details or password, you must promptly notify us at community@dyson.com.

Applicable Law

These terms and conditions, its subject matter and its formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims arising in connection with them) are governed by the law of the country in which you, the user, are resident. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a consumer user then you may also bring proceedings in the country in which you are resident.

Other Important Terms

Each of the paragraphs of these terms and conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the other paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.

If we do not insist immediately that you do anything that you are required to do under these terms and conditions, or if we delay in taking steps in response to a breach of the terms and conditions by you, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
