Developed alongside hair stylists, our Dyson engineers studied the professional techniques when it came to creating a smooth finish and taming flyaways and frizz on the surface of the hair. Challenging themselves to design a tool that could help mimic a stylists' result. The Flyaway attachment.
To see just how they developed the new Flyaway attachment for the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, watch our recent YouTube film.
These same experts have shared their own guide and tips on getting the best from using the Flyaway attachment. And our team thought there would be no better place to highlighting it, then on our own Community. Here it is:
Top Tips
- Hold it at the top of your head until your hair is attracted to it. Then slowly run it along the length of your hair without pressing down on it. To style the back, rotate the attachment 45 degrees and slowly run it down the back of your head.
- Use the cool edges to attach, rotate or remove the Flyaway attachment.
- Always use on the high speed setting.
- For thicker hair types, we recommend using on the 100°C/212°F heat setting (high).
- To retain volume while smoothing your hair, we recommend using the 60°C/140°F cool setting (low).
- The Flyaway attachment can also be used to create flicks at the ends of your hair, if desired. If not, avoid running the attachment to the ends of your hair, or go over the ends using the 28°C/82°F cold setting (cold shot).
- The attachment should be used on dry and straight, or straightened, hair.
