Dyson V10 not for use with water? | Dyson Community
Skip to main content

I read that the Dyson V10 can not be used for wet cleaning such as mopping, yet I see after-market wet cleaning accessories that mop your floors or soak up wet spills. There seems to be different types of them. Wouldn't using them stuff up your Dyson V10? I'm assuming water would go inside the vacuum cleaner and stuff it up. I haven't bought any oof these accessories and am not intending to do so, but their descriptions say compatible with the Dyson V10..

Hi @àusthome,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

You’re right - we don’t recommend using any third party wet cleaning attachments in conjunction with Dyson vacuums, as they haven’t tested to our reliability and safety standards.

As we haven’t developed or tested these tools, we can’t confirm that they won’t allow water ingress, create damp odours, or cause damage to your Dyson machine. Additionally, any damage caused wouldn’t be covered under your Dyson guarantee, meaning any repairs needed would be chargeable.

We’ve developed and launched our own wet floor cleaning technology including the Dyson WashG1™️ wet cleaner and the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine vacuum. You can find out more about these here.

Hope this helps!

Don't worry. I\m not buying those water attachments as I have a mop and a bucket, and they'll do.
