I’m planning to buy a Gen5 but recently bought a new filter. I’d like to know if I can use my new V15 detect absolute HEPA filter with Gen5.

The answer no. Each filter has been specifically designed for the machine their manufactured for.
the filter on the V15 will not be compatible with the Gen5.
For reference, each machine and parts have different part numbers, I've listed them below.
gen5 filter
Part No. 972352-01
V15 Absolute filter
Part No. 970013-03
