Cordless vacuum - Cold weather operationSPOTLIGHTED POST
If you are storing or transporting your vacuum in cold temperatures (below 3C°) and experiencing cut-out of the motor after 1-2 seconds, the unit is operating as-designed.I was experiencing some problems that are not documented in the manual and I have owned my cordless v8 absolute for 25 months. At first, I though the battery was bad. The symptoms were that I would remove the unit from its charging base and all 3 bars would show a fully charged battery. I would squeeze the trigger and the unit would stop after 1-2 seconds and the battery indicator would display a single flashing blue bar. It did not matter if a power accessory was attached, or nothing was attached. It also did not matter if the unit was in MAX SUCTION mode or normal mode.I called Dyson support, and they thought I needed a new battery. I am glad now that I did not order one.My unit is stored in the garage and for the last several weeks daytime temperatures have been below freezing. I never “connected the dots” f
Charging a new Cordless V8 - No Power
So yesterday I collected my new v8. And on unpacking I did turn it on. After putting it on charge I then registered it to read the manual. It was at that point I realised my mistake. After googling the problem I have tried to reset the battery, but it still won't move from the one bar status. Any suggestions would be most welcome. (Moderation Edit - Tags Added/Category Updated)
Omniglide, Micro, Digital Slim, V10 Compatibility
I have a V10 and recently bought an Omni-glide. They both have unique and intersecting use cases. As I live in a small flat, I'd like to keep only one. Is there a way to use hose extension for the omniglide? (Maybe from one of the other slim, micro or light models) Would anybody know if that would fit? As that would definitely make me just keep the Omniglide.
Does your V15 bin detach when emptying the bin?
Dyson v15 intermittently when emptying the bin, the bin detached from the hoover. When it does detach the dust goes up in the air. Dyson said it’s meant to do that, but my previous V11 never did that in 4 years and videos on YouTube show that the little red button needs to be pressed to release and detach the bin for cleaning, which button I do not touch, yet the whole bin releases.
New V15 battery rundown count time?
Our brand new V15 just arrived, I’ve noticed the battery rundown counter when fully charged in Eco mode with power floor head starts at 44 minutes, is this correct? Only the adverts suggest over 1 hour run time?Keen to hear other users real world times on a new machine / battery. Thanks. (Moderation edit - Tags Added)

Almost every time I use it, I get a message saying that the filter needs cleaning but when I look at it it can be as clean as a whistle.I have tried cleaning everything I can think of and got a replacement filter, but still the same thing happens. Is there anything else I can try? Is there an Adapter for sealing vacuum bags?
We recently bought the latest Dyson (V15 detect). Yesterday we had to bag up a double duvet (after Christmas visitors etc) in a vacuum seal bag and discovered there none of the attachments that came with it were any use to sucking the air out of the vacuum bag. We tried using just the hand held bit (the only thing that seemed to work), but on several occasions we got an error message saying something like blocking airways (not quite sure exact message now) so we stopped and were afraid to continue in case we damaged the machine. Is there an adapter/hose we can buy and or another way we can use the Dyson to suck the air out of vacuum bags? Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Cordless V10 Adapter NEEDED!
My wife recently purchased several tools, which she thought would work with our V10 cordless but apparently they don’t. We also have a Ball Total Clean and if I pull the hose out, the tools will fit on it. We would rather use the tools on the V10 cordless and wanting to find the right adapter. I’ve seen several different adapters on Amazon and other sites but they don’t seem to have names for each of the type of connectors so I am not certain what will actually work to allow me to use tools that work with the Ball Total Clean on my V10 cordless. Cordless V11 - Clear bin ejector sticking or broken - Help!
I have a V11 cordless vacuum and all of a sudden, the ejection mechanism (red lever and internal stick that pushes lid) is sticking and not opening the bin. I now have to pry the lid open. Has anyone else experienced this? Nothing looks cracked or broken and it closes fine. Would rather try to fix than buy a new bin (plus they’re out of stock) (Edited by moderator – Tags added & Title amended)
v15 detect delivered without the stick?
I’m baffled by this, but my Dyson V15 Detect seems to arrived without the long vacuum “stick” that appears in the photos/user guides. I’ve looked everywhere, triple-checked the boxes, etc. But to be fair, this seems like one of the hardest parts to overlook. Problem is, all of the help/support guides don’t seem to anticipate that a Dyson could be delivered without a fundamental part. Both phone and chat support don’t seem to be letting me through. Anyone else have this issue? And how did you resolve it?Thanks!
Battery Removal for Outsize to Work
I have an Outsize cordless stick vacuum with removable battery. After charging I have to remove battery and put back for vacuum to work. It gets power, before removal, but does no suction. When battery removed and replaced it works fine. Have 2 batteries with same behavior so must be unit. Any thoughts?
V7 extra - suction issues!
I have the V7 extra. It charges fine, and was working fine. The roller was damaged (all the “teeth?!” had snapped off) so I bought a new one from Dyson. Since replacing, the roller spins fine, but the hoover seems to be sucking up far less. Really easy bits on the floor don’t get hoovered up. I’ve tried on both normal and extra mode. Any ideas or suggestions? I’ve cleaned the filter, I’ve checked the roller is installed correctly (and it does roll fine when being used), and its fully charged. (Edited by moderator – Tags added)
V10 Cordless Battery Dies after 20-24 months??
I have several Dyson products and I think they are all really great. Bought the V-10 cordless 2 years ago and I have really taken good care of it. The battery dies at about the 24 month point (just after warranty expiration). I have taken care of the machine and battery and also tried Dyson’s trouble shooting tips - But the battery will not hold a charge for more than 38 seconds. A new battery is $130 through Dyson and I would hate to have to do this every 2 years. Any thoughts/suggestion? (Edited by moderator – Tags added and Moved to a new category)
Help. My Cordless vacuum isn't charging
I have had my DC59 for many years now. Recently it only works for a few mins. if that. The blue light flashes, like it did yesterday, and I charged it overnight. I pulled the trigger this morning and an orange light came on and went off immediately followed by the blue flashing light.I’m not sure whether I need to purchase another battery or if there is something else wrong with the product. Also the MAX button used to show a blue light when depressed, now it doesn’t show a light at all.I’m hoping you can help.SusieQ (Edited by moderator – Tags added)
V6 - Can I use it without the filter?
Hi. My mother brought a V6 from the local Carboot. I’ve had to buy a new filter, as it didn’t come with one. I wanted to know if we could use it without the filter?I’ve told my mother that she shouldn’t. Knowing her she will be cleaning out the Caravan with it tonight.
