Dyson connected machines are programmed to send and receive data from the Dyson Cloud.

If the Dyson App isn’t updating to reflect the most recent information, losses connection frequently or has disconnected all together, it could be due to a combination of factors:

  1. Weak or complete loss of Bluetooth connectivity
  2. Loss of device signal, resulting in a failure to update
  3. Loss of connection to the Dyson Cloud.

Weak or complete loss of Bluetooth connectivity

If there is a weak or complete loss of Bluetooth connectivity, the headphones could have trouble connecting to the device. If possible, move the device closer to the headphones and re-check the device Bluetooth settings.

The range of Bluetooth is around 30 feet or 10 meters. This communication range can become reduced, depending on obstacles or the environment the headphones are being used in.

Loss of device signal, resulting in a failure to update

Should the device connected to the headphones lose data signal, either mobile or local WIFI connection, the data displayed in the Dyson App may fail to update. In this instance, wait until the data signal has return and refresh the Dyson App.

Loss of connection to the Dyson Cloud

In the instance where both Bluetooth and device data is working, but the device is failing to update data from the headphones, a ‘Power Cycle/Restart/Reset’ of the headphones will be required. This should help to re-establish the connection to the Dyson Cloud and refresh the Bluetooth connection. To do this simply follow the below step:

  1. Turn off the headphones by pressing and holding the airflow button on the left earcup for 5 seconds.
  2. Continue to reset the headphones by holding the airflow button down for a further 5 - 10 seconds.
  3. Refresh the Dyson App by closing and reopening it.

Please note:

  • By resetting the headphones, the In-App air quality data will be unavailable for a period of two hours.
  • Refer to the Viewing the headphones air quality graphs article for an overview of this air quality data and where it can be found.
