To view the indoor or outdoor air quality information in the Dyson App, the machine will first need to be connected.

Once connected, open the App to the home-screen and swipe up or down respectively. This action presents an on-screen view of the graphical data and a snapshot of the results.

Outdoor air quality

To view your local outdoor air quality data you will first have to set your Home location in the ‘Your machine’s settings’ menu. This data is represented in a snapshot, showing: AQI, Temperature, Humidity, PM2.5, PM10, NO and Pollen level.

Please note:

  • Tapping on the snapshot provides more information on each of the data samples.

Indoor air quality

The indoor air quality results are shown as a snapshot and in a graph. In graphical form the air quality scale/level is represented with colours running up the left-hand side. The description of these colours is below:

Good/Green. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting a very low level of the type of pollutant.

Fair/Yellow. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting a moderate level of the type of pollutant.

Poor/Amber. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting a high level of the type of pollutant.

Very poor/Red. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting a very high level of the type of pollutant.

In very rare circumstances you may see these other pollutant levels types:

Extremely poor/Burgundy. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting an extremely poor level of the type of pollutant.

Severe/Purple. When this section of the coloured bar is highlighted, your purifier is detecting a sever level of the type of pollutant. A timeline scrubber runs along the bottom of the graph.

Simply swipe left or right on the screen to navigate through the recorded time. Swiping on the graph title enables the view for other pollutant types and to review other recorded data types: PM2.5, PM10, VOC, NO2, Temperature and Humidity.

There is a brief gap in the amount of time it takes to update the Air Quality data shown on the machine and that on the graph. This is as a result of the time it takes to send and receive data to and from the Dyson Cloud. This has been summarised for both our Purifier ‘Generations’ below:

Generation 1

One hour

Generation 2

Twenty (20) minutes

More information on connecting your machine to the Dyson App can be found on our ‘Connecting your Purifiers, Humidifiers and Heaters to the App’ article.
