V15 assembly--wrong wand

The wand included in my v15 detect can not connect to the vacuum motor.  One end is fine and connects to the other accessories but the other end has a large partially clear plastic non-removable covering.  It looks nothing like the one depicted in the manual.  What do I do?

Hi @GDroth,

Welcome to the Dyson Community, and congratulations on your new Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum!

Sorry for any confusion but to reassure you, it doesn’t sound like there’s anything wrong with your machine. Some variants of the Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum include a new Built-in dusting and crevice tool, which you can instantly access for above-floor cleaning tasks by removing the wand.

The Built-in dusting and crevice tool should be connected to your machine first, before you attach the wand. It sits neatly inside the clear section of the wand when you’re vacuuming in the floor in upright mode:

I hope this helps, but please let us know if you need any further support!
