To maintain optimum performance, your Dyson Airstrait™ straightener needs regular care and maintenance.
Before starting, turn the straightener off, unplug it from mains power, and ensure the body is cool to the touch.
Please note:
- The onboard LCD screen will provide a prompt when the machine needs maintenance – for example, when to clean your filter.
- We recommend cleaning the filter once a month by soaking in warm soapy water for 30 minutes followed by rinsing under running water, and cleaning off any stubborn debris with your fingers.
- The thermal control diffusers, located on the arms of your machine, can be easily removed by sliding the diffusers away from the machine. We recommend soaking the diffusers in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes, then rinsing under running water. Use a cloth, brush, or your fingers to clean off any stubborn debris.
- Leave all parts to fully dry before refitting to your machine.

The user manual
Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical copy of your machine’s user manual, a virtual copy of it can be downloaded from the local website.
Using the Guides and manuals link, select your machine from the options available and navigate through the page until you reach the ‘User manual’ section. Click on it to begin the download.
Once downloaded, simply view the instructions on maintenance.

Dyson’s online support enables users to not only troubleshooting potential issues with their machine(s), but offers a host of useful content, such as the steps needed to clean the straightener's plates

Using the Guides and manuals link, select your machine from the options available and navigate through to the ‘Guides’ page. Here you will find the on-screen instructions.
