After giving Dyson just over $1,000 over the past four years, we are done.
 

Four years ago my wife and I bought the V10 Motörhead based on their claim that the battery has a 60 minute run time and will last 15 years. I failed to do my research and didn’t realize they only offer a 2 year warranty. Today, the battery lasts around 4 minutes on the lowest setting. If I run it on max it shuts off around 7 seconds. Dyson refuses to back their $550 vacuum cleaner based on the 2 year warranty. It makes zero sense that they are willing to say the battery lasts 15 years but they won’t guarantee that past 2 years, especially as expensive as they are. The option is to take it in for a repair. Notice the word “take” there. Once the warranty is out, that is the only way to have a repair done. They will not let us ship it to them, we have to physically take it to Dyson to repair it. The closest place to us is in Nashville, TN. It’s only a short eight hour drive to get there. 

Around the same time that we bought the vacuum, I also bought one of their hair dryers for my wife to the tune of $500. I still have buyers remorse but it made my wife extremely happy so I was okay with it. That was until the hair dryer stopped turning on last year and, you guessed it, the two year warranty had ran out. Like the vacuum, we can have it fixed if we take it to Dyson and pay them for repairs. 
 

I have never seen a company charge as much as Dyson but refuse to back their product this much. I can see why now as both of the things I’ve bought from them have stopped working just outside of the warranty window. The old adage is that you get what you pay for but this is absolutely not true with Dyson. You pay through the nose with them but you get Black and Decker quality products and zero customer care. 
 

I will never again buy anything from Dyson and truly hope you won’t either. Learn from our mistake and go with Shark or Bissel. Either of them are better than Dyson and cost half the price.
