Hi to all,
I am new to Dyson and have tended to avoid as being either over complicated or just too expensive for what they are. I have finally been persuaded by my wife and family to purchase a robot vacuum and bought a second hand Huerist. I was fully aware from the seller that the battery may be flat and maybe woudn’t charge as it had been in his garage for 2 years but I was sure that batteries can be fixed or easily obtainable, never had an issue with any piece of equipment before. How wrong I was!
Looking on line it seems that there are many Huerist owners complaining that their batteries run out too quickly/brick or won’t charge - overcomplicated anyone?
There are no Heurist replacement batteries for sale on the Dyson site. There are a few non oem batteries for sale but these are for the 360 eye and will not fit in the Huerist despite being sold as such - they clearly do not have the same voltage or the security lug slot. There are dissatisfied owners tearing their hair out trying to get into the casing - really stupidly difficult - to change the batteries or being advised by Dyson to return the unit to Dyson for “repair” by an engineer - come on it is one screw!
I eventually did ring up Dyson support and the adviser to start with stuck to the script - you have to send the whole vacuum cleaner in to have an engineer fit a new battery - but after I complained she then said she had found a battery on their inventory and whilst I was just checking with her that the spec was correct I could hear in the background someone shouting/telling her to go back to the script. I gave up. I suspect that batteries are sent from Asia, hence why they are not on the web site or there is a ridiculous bit of software/hardware that ties the original battery to the unit which means the unit has to be reprogrammed to accept a new battery or simply there are no replacement batteries available.
So Sir James Dyson, you bang on about being green, eco conscious and producing sustainable products but why are there no Huerist batteries on the Dyson web site, why does your customer support believe an engineer is the only person who can change a battery - ie use a screwdriver, why is it so difficult to have the battery repaired, why weren’t the Eye and Huerist batteries interchangeable - you are supposed to be GREEN.
Anyone else as frustrated?
