Why is my brand new airstrait making the room foggy (using on dry hair)?

Welcome to the Dyson Community, and congratulations on your new Dyson Airstrait™ straightener!
I appreciate you were using it on dry hair, but just to check, did you happen to apply any kind of heat protector or other treatment or styling product before using your machine?
I did not use any products on my hair before using the machine.
