I've read that this is a common problem, but I've tried all the solutions and am still getting repeat warnings that my filter needs changing. I dried the filter out completely in our airing cupboard and checked that the dust drum was empty and all the parts/filters cleared of fluff. When that didn't work, I replaced the filter, but again got the same warning animatic. 

The machine has worked brilliantly until the last week and is still under guarantee. Is there anything I can still do, or should I request a replacement/repair?

Could be an issue with the trigger/body component. The onboard sensor could be faulty or the filter itself could be warped. Best to contact Dyson for help. The stick vacs have a 2-year warranty, so any replacement parts will be free.
