The Dyson V8 Absolute vacuum has a highly efficient, fully-sealed filtration system which traps 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.3 microns.

A Dyson vacuum which includes a HEPA filter - for example, the Dyson Gen5detect vacuum - goes even further, and will be able to trap 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.1 microns.

So from your reply, I take it my V8 Absolute does not have a HEPA filter?

We would need the serial number to know for sure - the Dyson V8 Absolute vacuum has been in production since 2016, and the majority of Dyson V8 variants have not included a HEPA filter.

However there is currently a variant on sale in the US which does include a HEPA filter. So if this is the version you own (with a teal-coloured post-motor filter), this would filter to HEPA standard.

Sorry this isn’t a very definitive answer but we’d need to know more about your particular machine. If you’re able to share a clear picture of it here, this would help us identify it and confirm!
