My Dyson V8 animal cordless hepa , powers up and down like a go- cart sputtering before completing shutting off. That’s all happening on a full charge battery. I have thoroughly cleaned each part after each use hoping to extend its life but here we are faced with another electronic deemed to last two years and be traded for a new one like the cell phone companies do us all. Any ideas what’s causing this?

Your Dyson V8™️ vacuum is engineered to pulse on and off rapidly to alert you if something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. This could be due to a filter overdue for a wash, and/or a blockage or obstruction within the floor tool, wand or bin inlet.

After the pulsing alert, your machine will shut down for protection to prevent damage to the motor.

This is almost always something you can easily resolve with some simple troubleshooting checks. Please follow the steps shown in our guide. Before washing the conical pre-filter, try tapping it firmly upside down on a flat surface - this will help dislodge any dust or debris trapped inside the filter.

 

If your machine continues to pulse after you’ve followed each of the steps shown, Dyson Customer Care experts will need to provide additional support.

When you have your machine easily to hand, they’ll be able to walk you through some further diagnostic checks to make sure everything is working correctly.

If a replacement part or repair is needed they’ll be able to arrange this for you, and to confirm whether this is covered under your Dyson guarantee.

Thanks Jack, issue was resolved. A filter was not locking correctly and taking seal. Had to purchase a new filter and all is good now
