gen5 absolute cyclone dented

Hi all, hoping you might beable to help me. While cleaning the vacuum I’ve noticed the silver bit on the cyclone has become dented, what would cause this? It wasn’t like this last week when I emptied the vacuum. I didn’t notice anything in the bin compartment to cause this, was mostly dust and dog fur as usual.
Will the dents cause any issue to the vacuums performance? Or likely to just be cosmetic?

Thanks, Sam

Hi @Lloyd.sammy,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

This is very unusual to see - I’m not sure what would cause the perforated metal shroud to deform on it’s own during normal vacuuming.

We would recommend replacing the cyclone pack as a precaution, just to make sure that performance, and the automatic shroud-wiping mechanism, aren’t impacted by the damage.

Our Customer Care team should be able to help you with this. If your machine is within our free 2-year guarantee period they should be able to arrange to send a replacement cyclone pack. If not, they should also be able to process a chargeable order for you.
