I have a DC30 handheld and am struggling to find a replacement battery. I’ve found one on Amazon and it states in the headline for the product that it is a Type A battery compatible with DC30, DC31 etc but then doesn't mention the DC30 in the product description text.
Would this work with the DC30?

DC30 and DC31 were the second generation of Dyson handheld vacuums, launched back in 2009. We continued to support our older machines with spare parts and repair options far beyond their original 2-year warranties. However we’ve now discontinued support for some legacy machines, to focus on our more recent technology.
As these batteries aren’t manufactured by Dyson, we wouldn’t be able to vouch for their safety or compatibility. We have to advise against using non-genuine batteries with your Dyson machines as we can’t guarantee they won’t cause damage.
I’m sorry we’re not able to give a more comprehensive answer to your question in this instance.
I'll rephrase it then. Is the genuine Dyson replacement battery for the DC30 the same as that for the DC31?

No - there are multiple part numbers for batteries for these machines, depending on which model and variant you own.
