I used the 47 1/2” measurement for the bottom hole in the mounting plate. This leaves my V10 about 7 inches off the ground. Way does Dyson want you to mount the V10 so high?

The measurements in the instructions are to ensure that there’s enough room for the attachments not to get damaged, even if this is attached to your wand.
Although the measurements are given as a guideline to perfect spacing, it is ultimately you that decides where and how the dock is installed.
