Over-enthusiastic cleaning of the metal mesh of my V12 Slim Detect has led to dents (see photo). Does this affect the cleaning performance?

Hi @willmow,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

The Dyson V12 Detect Slim™ vacuum’s perforated metal shroud is automatically wiped clean of clinging debris by the shroud wiper mechanism each time you empty the bin. If you feel the shroud needs some more thorough cleaning by hand from time to time, we’d recommend using a soft brush or dry cloth to avoid any risk of damage.

In this instance we would suggest replacing the cyclone assembly as a precaution, as we can’t guarantee this damage won’t impact the performance of your machine.

You should be able to order a replacement cyclone assembly directly from Dyson.com. If the part you need isn’t in stock right now, please sign up using the ‘Keep me updated’ option, and we’ll email you as soon as as it’s available again.

Hope this helps!
