I bought my Dyson over 5 years ago. Everything has worked ok until the main carpet attachment stopped working. Dyson no longer makes or services this part. When I contacted Dyson customer service to see what my options were, I spent over 25 minutes on the phone with a gentleman who could not speak/understand English very well. He kept repeating my name over and over and thanking me while putting me on hold repeatedly and not assisting me with anything other than collecting my address. He then gave me a phone number for a service centre. When I called this number it just connected me back to customer service. This happened 3x I tried calling the Calgary service centre phone number. When I got sent back the 3rd time, the agent again, could not speak/understand English and kept repeating my name, thanking me over and over and putting me on hold. This is obviously their representative requirement which is actually more frustrating. When I asked her to please stop repeating my name and thanking me and to just give me the information I needed to get ahold of the service centre or transfer me to someone who could help,  she disconnected the call. I called back and of course got a different agent, who could actually speak and understand English,  I told him the quick scenario and asked if I could be connected or contacted by a manager because I wasn’t able to get the info from the customer service reps (which he admitted they had no other number to give me or any advice) he contacted his supervisor and then told me the supervisor refused to speak to me as my issue was not important enough to escalate. So I asked him what the solution was and he said they couldn’t help me. So I spent close to $1,000 on a vacuum that they refuse to assist me in finding a replacement for. The vacuum is still functioning but not the carpet attachment. Which of course I require. So I am to just garbage this vacuum because Dyson would rather I purchase a newer model? I have never had a company refuse to help me find a solution or assist me. This is a terrible company and I will never buy another one of their products. They are so expensive and supposed to last for years, but clearly that’s not the case. Very disappointed in this company.
