We have had the most unbelievable experience with Dyson after purchasing an air purifier/humidifier. When it works, we love it. But it first broke after 10 months of having it. Working with Dyson was a total headache. They eventually got our replacement after about 2 months. Then, we started using the new one and about 11 months later, it broke again. After the first one broke, they agreed to extend the warranty (even though I kjnow this is not their policy, but they did it). I have included a screenshot of the email stating our warranty is active through 2025. See below.
Now that the $900 machine has broke again, in under a year, they are telling us they never would agree to extend a warranty. We have spent hours and hours on the phone with them. Each time we ask for a supervisor, they tell us that one is not available and to call back. We won’t accept that. Every time they ask us to call back, we say no. We will wait. My wife is on the phone with them at this moment and they are still trying to get her off the call with no resolution.
I used to think this a great company, but all they are doing is hoping we will give up on our ridiculously expensive machine and pay for it ourselves. I have seen other posts that are very similar. Apparently, this is not a bug, but a feature of the company’s “customer service”. Even if they did not agree and put in writing (again, see below) to extend our warranty, how is it acceptable that they cannot keep a $900 machine working for 12 straight months.
And to make it even worse, they won’t let you write a review on their website anymore. They know very well that their policies are making their customers upset, but they figure if it is almost impossible to talk to anyone or to post publicly about our experience, that we will just go away.
Again, love the product, but now, I am really starting to hate the company.
Absolute joke. Hoping to get this message out. If anyone has a lot of Twitter followers and wants to post this, please do. It is probably the only way Dyson will decide to do the right thing and honor what they have given us “IN WRITING”.
I guess we will try to take them to small claims court. I know everyone says they will get a lawyer involved and it is usually BS, but small claims court is easy and will force them to send a lawyer out to San Diego from Texas to address it. So, even if they don’t do the right thing, at least it will cost them money which will make me at least a little bit satisfied.
